He is a wing nut, first off he says that blacks were happier when he was a kid pre welfare, welfare came in 10 years before he was born. So that alone shows he is pulling stuff out of his ass. Second if you don't believe in homosexual activity due to your rendering of the bible thats fine, but if you are a public figure and air it in public then your employers have every right to fire you, or boycott you. His freedom of speech has not been violated in the smallest amount. He said what he wanted and got a national platform. A&E are on the right side of this. The gay movement is gong to win and win big. In the next 10 years if your anti gay you will look like some old southern person flying a confederate flag saying we need to segregate the schools again. A&E has to think of its reputation for the future and to side with the crazy asshats who are running around condemning others life styles would be a black mark on their profile. The crazy anti gay Christians are slowly dying off. The next generation is getting smaller so that it will mirror today's segregationist few back woods red necks who have not begun to live in the now.

What a funny stupid idea. LOL The bible is the most important book ever. Its one of the dumbest most useless book or group of books to be specific ever put together. People like you don't even know the history of the bible. How Constantine the great put together the council of Nicaea that actually crated the bible. No book of the bible are anything more than copies of copies and the closest ones to the actual supposed original are some 100 or more years of separation. What could possibly go wrong there. LOL This is the best your god can do? This is how the creator of the universe give man his guide book? LOL He is one lame god if thats the best he can do and I would rather follow a juniper bush than some being that lame.

I don't follow the Mayor very much at all so I don't know if this kind of ignorance is normal for her but I find it hard to believe that anyone elected to represent the City of Houston would have the nerve to make such a stupid statement.
You do know she's a lesbian, right?

Annise, the two bimbo's running A&e need to get over it!
The world doesn't revolve around the feelings of homosexuals.

I'm going to agree that a smart politician would stay out of this entirely and give this reality 'star' the time his words deserve. None.

What's good for the goose is NOT good for the gander, in other words? Duck man is a man of honor for standing up for HIS believes but the Mayor deserves to be . . . . what would you like to see happen poster?
Fired for speaking HER beliefs?

Indeed, it seems to be. The conservative crowed says that they are tired of being 'PC" but that appears to be only when THEY are speaking their mind.

Hypocrites.

Annise Parker is an elected representative of the City of Houston, she shouldn't be labeling someone she doesn't know as a "redneck wingnut" on her official Mayoral twitter feed.
You are correct, she should not be using her elected office representing all of her constituency to fight her personal battles, and yes, she most certainly took it personally.

Hypocrites.
The mayor specifically called out an individual with derogatory terms, something that Phil Robertson never did. Phil Robertson is not an elected public figure and he doesn't represent anyone but himself.

She personally attacked someone using social media, while I don't agree with what Phil Robertson said he didn't personally attack anyone. The Mayor is also an elected public official, Phil Robertson is on a reality TV show, there is a big difference here.
