The American way is not to whine, but to act. These idiots should have proven they were worth more by getting great offers elsewhere.

I would have done just what this business owner did. He needs a new workforce. One happy to have a job.
His new workforce will be composed of people working for less then livable wages. Oh, apparently sweatshops are the new norm in America.

FMV is at least minimum wage. Now if he paid them less, they have a DOL complaint.

I guess if you think it's funny to see low wage workers lose their job 2 days before Christmas? Wow, take a look at your life and in the mirror.
Yeah I think I'm pretty much going to vote Democrat again. Neo-Confederates jumping up and down with glee because workers dared to ask for higher wages get fired? With friends like that, who needs enemies? And you wonder why Romney lost the election because he implied 47% of Americans are disgusting leeches. What do RWNJs say in his defense? America is just too stupid to vote for Obama. Seriously, GOP deserves to lose until they kick every neo-Confederate to the curb.

Yes, but is it right. The minimum wage should have increased with the col. $10 an hour wouldn't kill the owner and it will go a long way for the employees.

When was that? When tuition was $1000 for a whole year?

It is this type of thinking that has led to the downfall of the middle class and will continue to do so as more and more worker rights are eliminated. Yes, cheer from your basement as the United States collapses around you.

Just as long as whoever YOU agree with gets to speak their mind with no repercussions, eh?
who is taking away anyones right to protest? understand though that where there are rights, there are also responsibilities, and one responsibility one has to deal with regarding protesting is that you may get fired.

actually small business owners know exactly what people go through everyday, as they go through the same things, but magnified. small business owners have to deal with all the same things the average worker does, how much money do i have to support my family, and then the added responsibility for running the business and keeping it open is added on to that, and to top it off is how do i keep my best employees, and still be able to afford to keep the business open. top that off with how do i comply with the new regulations the various governments are piling on me and still be able to keep my business open, and maintain enough profit to feed my family.

Places like that won't give you a raise for working hard. They work you for cheap until you leave then replace you. They aren't trying to grow talent to move up the ranks or anything.
