Not going over this again at length, we've already discussed it. As bad as Hamas is, there's pretty solid evidence from various polls and surveys that the election wasn't a mandate for attacks on Israel, or for "dressing up children as suicide bombers," but rather had more to do with Fatah's corruption, incompetence, and having held power for over a decade.
Kind of like voting for Mussolini as he got the trains to run on time....
Apparently the problem is that you think that I think it is. Like I've said, I don't have your good guy/bad guy dichotomy thing going on, there's heroes and villains in both camps.
I'm not saying they made the right choice, just that the election results don't signal a rejection of the peace process by a majority of Palestinians.
If you vote for a group whose charter states it's desire to destroy Israel and the Jews it would seem you would have to be a fool to think this would lead to peace.

Or misinformed, most of the Hamas candidates refrained from talking about the more radical aspects of their charter (Islamic law, expulsion of Israel) during the election.
Of course. The Palestinians peace party, though comprised of a vast majority of palestinians, has yet to offer a candidate. For anything.
Yes, as Americans we're intimately familiar with the ease with which one may start up a successful new party and break up the old power structure while winning the support of a majority of the populace, we've had what, like 3 Libertarian Party presidents in the past century and 7 Greens make it to the national debates, right?

Adding to the unavoidable impression that they are devious as well as violent.
