How did the previous times of raising minimum wage work for you?

Franchise owners earn an average of $58K a year (2013).
And they work about 70 hours per week.

That's a far cry from the 400:1 ratio.

For me personally? Didn't do much, as I was already earning quite a bit more than that. But I do know those raises didn't lead to mass layoffs and offshoring as the neo-cons always claim whenever this topic comes up.

And for the snarky question I was asked earlier, I'm 33. How that's relevant, I'm not sure.

The "min wage controversy" is what the government cooked up to get the attention off of their failed policies.
62% of min wage workers are in school and live in middle class homes making over $65K a year.

Interesting, where did those statistics come from?

Would this be when Henry Ford doubled his hourly wages in order to protect his profits and reduce his turnover?

So, since you didn't notice the lack of opportunity for the bottom rung of the job market becaues of your distance from it, you can breezily claim it never hurt anyone.

Of that 38% of 3.9 million workers working for min wage how many do you suppose have skills to even consider moving up ? The other 62% are in school so they will move on.

That would be 1.4 million who are adults working min wage.
Some of them cannot speak English don't forget.

Increase it to $50/hour you would see a massive layoffs. Slight increase would only cause slight layoffs.

Look at this way. How many jobs have we lost over the years of raising the minimum wage? You guys complain about the companies shipping jobs overseas, have you thought about the continuously raising of minimum wage could be one of the problems?

Besides, did they solve any problems?

please provide the stats...

everyone claims layoffs due to minimum wage but no one has a stat to back it up.
