Nobody is advocating for T-310 to go anywhere near any kind of drug or mind altering substance... that sure is a scary thought.
But if an emotionally stable, intellectually competent and clear headed ADULT wants to partake in consuming an ancient herb that has always been used by human civilization for thousands of years than it should be absolutely no issue for any Government. The same could be and has been said for alcohol, which is actually a more dangerous substance that is much worse for our health and our bodies and does not elevate consciousness as effectively.
Actually, the government should not tell me what I can eat, drink or smoke. End of story.
Of course people take too many drugs, with capitalism running Pharmaceutical companies the only thing that matters is pushing drugs and making money. People actually think these companies care whether they save lives or kill people off, making money is they care about,
No human on earth believes that. We all know that drug companies (legal and illegal) are in it to make a profit. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
When I lived up in the Washington, DC area every person I knew and would discuss such things was taking some form of mind/mood altering drug. The stress and work environment up there are so toxic that most people have to take something to make it through the day. It was horrible and that's why I left.
I think that the use of anti-depressants has been demonized as well (quite wrongly). Those meds can be a life saver for patients with depression, yet people are reluctant to take them, due to societal stigma of being treated for depression. The press does no favors by supporting this mischaracterization.
I'm with you in support of antibiotics, but as for antidepressants, my issue is them being overprescribed for patients that are not depressed. Not so much against the stigma, hell, I medicate for insomnia and feel no shame in my game...if I suffered depression, same thing. But for doctors to give it out like candy as some sort of cure-all for conditions that have nothing to do with depression, I'm against it. They also have terrible side effects, which are not worth it for those who aren't depressed.
This is why advertising is a multi-million dollar business. Get people's attention, make them uncomfortable, and get them to spend their money. (have you seen the pharmaceutical commercials?)
The really weird part about pharmaceutical commercials is that they spend about 15 seconds telling you what a wonderful drug they've created and the remaining 45 seconds telling you how that drug will kill you or otherwise ruin your life via side-effects.
