Desiring respect for our immigration laws is not nor should it be just a conservative issue. It is about our laws and the well being of our country and its citizenry as a whole. It isn't our fault that most illegals are Mexican nor does their nationality have anything to do with our objection to them being here illegally. I get so sick of the race card being pulled on this issue. I would object just as vehemently if the bulk of illegals were Chinese or some other national group. Fear of strangers? Don't make laugh. Just what foreign group is a stranger to our country that aren't legal immigrants or citizens of our country? It's just the usual grasping at straws by the anti-American defenders of illegal aliens. All they have are unwarranted insults toward their fellow Americans for the rule of law. Shameful!
I can only speak for myself, but I far prefer Hispanics to Chinese because we share Christian values, milleniums old cultural ties, and the same language base. I absolutely do not "hate" Hispanics and know very few Anglos that do. I'm sorry if that's true where you live.

Let's face it. White Conservatives are starting to embrace blacks now because there's a new "threat" on the horizon, and it's brown people from Mexico. This is fueled by Hispanophobia, plain and simple. They can hide behind the "respect our immigration laws" banner all they want, but I never see the same zeal against Chinese illegals who blatantly set up their own ethnic enclaves and have their Chinese signs written all over the place. They hate Mexicans, but embrace the Chinese in secret, because they are the "model minority". I'm against illegal immigration, but my is not rooted in hatred and/or fear of the foreigner
American blacks are in their own country and most Africans immigrate legally so there's a difference.
You also don't see the blatant racism with blacks -- I have yet to hear a black insist that there be unlimited immigration for all blacks from countries like Haiti or from African nations.
Plus blacks have been willing to learn English pretty much from the start.

Exactly. When hispanics flee their hispanic nations, they never flee them for another hispanic nation. They all run for the the USA and then start complaining and whining about the American people and gripe how horrible the American culture is -- but they sure do love the American dollar.
