I hope to God you have to deal with Obamacare. I've said it over and over again here. Being in the medical arena, you have no, zero, zip idea what is going to happen to you if you are.

Being the primary caregiver for a nearly century mark grandmother, I can say that Medicare works fairly well... for the most part. There are a few services that are very slow such as getting a wheelchair which took 2 months. The thing of it is, parts B and D are running her more than 1/2 of her SS. Thank God she has immediate family who care for her, and Medicare, otherwise she'd be toast.

With that said, I also agree with abnheel. I'm on the receiving end of the dark side of the ACA. I was forced (literally) into Medicaid even though I wanted to pay for a plan. I need to see a pulmonologist, and it will be 13 weeks from the time the application to see one was submitted to the time I will actually see one, and this is only for an evaluation. If I had/have a serious lung disease, 13 weeks just to be evaluated would/could be a disaster for me.

On top of that, I just received a notice saying that anyone on Medicaid will forfeit any possessions upon death to satisfy their bills. So it's more of an investment in death, and I can see how they'll charge a premium for their shoddy service.

It has been proven that a person on Medicaid has a better chance of dying than a person with no coverage whatsoever.

Most of those 7 million are new Medicaid enrollees... Yippy for the Prez!

Thats exactly it. It would have been far less damaging, and far more beneficial to just expand medicaid..=

Its like working with the Mob, "Its a offer you can refuse" Liberals will give all of there rights and the intrusion of Gov. is just fine to get a free service.

The perceived success is only that , because we have a gun to our heads and the gun is called Obama Care! These same people (DNC and Liberals", say lets make this work? The problem is Obama Care is Fatally flawed and we will have to take some the positive parts and incorporate into a more free market model.

You are correct, "There is no such thing as free" I wish more people get a clue!

Overall, do you support or oppose the federal law making changes to the health care system? - The Washington Post
What were the exact poll questions asked? Most polls are misleading, asking very vague questions. Was Obamacare (or the ACA) specifically mentioned in the poll? Most people could answer "yes" to a question that simply asks if you support "reform" or "changes" to the health care system. That does not translate to support for Obamacare, which is an entire top-to-bottom change to not only health insurance, but to the way in which health care is delivered, and who is in charge.

The Dems know they can't just go to the voters and expand Medicaid. They had to lie and try to include the middle class. Try to tell them the ACA was for them. That it protects the middle class.

So trying telling that to smoke making around $94k a year with a family of 4 who's self employed having to pay $8000-9000 in premiums each year with a $12000 deductible. And that's just for the bronze plans. The premiums are even much more for the silver plans.

And guess what? That's your middle class. And there is no cost control subsidy for them since they make what's deemed "affordable".

I guess I was wrong about that. But that changes nothing about this phony poll.

How do you come to this conclusion?

If more than 7m people were thrown off their plans, and Obama just exclaimed they hit the 7m mark, then it's a wash. On top of that we know the 7m thrown off plans are real numbers put out by the insurance carriers. The 7m new enrollees are theoretical, because nobody knows yet. It'll take several months to know exactly how many are actually paying.

Why is it that theoretical values confuse liberals so badly? (I'm not calling you a liberal)

If it were Republicans making such claims they (liberals) would be calling them out on it... Obama, not so much.

The hypocrisy is stark. When GWB rolled out Part D it was absolutely raked across the coals by the left because of the cost, but when Obama closes the donut hole with Part D it is applauded. I mean seriously, these D and R routines are getting old.

Yes, you're very, very wrong.
It's pertinent to the topic because you claimed liberals will believe anything.
