I'm for making our enemies quit and for their leaders under our custody to spill the beans on everything they have to save lives.
if it takes some water boarding and sleep deprivation or pulling off finger nails to get that intel out, so be it......this is war. We treat our prisoners way better than what they treat our captured military and civilians.
The problem is, as has been pointed about by people like Sen. John McCain and others, who, you know, actually know what they're talking about on this topic...people being tortured tend to say whatever you want to get you to stop torturing them. We've wasted numerous resources and large amounts of money chasing false leads given by tortured suspects. Is it really that hard for you to grasp?

so I guess the CIA and Pentagon professionals who don't agree with Mccain's views don't know what they are talking about?
Funny how you pick and choose opinions and views to back up your narrow narrative and ignore the rest.

I don't think it works that way. What the subject says is written down, compared with what others said and what the others said is compared with what the subject said. Discrepancies are identified and reviewed with the prisoner until they are corrected or explained. The process stops when enough information, or all that can be gleaned, is obtained.
What McCain said is that most information from torture is false. That's obvious. But it's the the part that is true that makes the difference.
Have you noticed that everyone here is ignoring your blatant attempts to divert this thread? Just thought I would point it out to you, as you tend to simply repeat the same thing over and over and over again. This thread isn't about Obama. There are a myriad of other threads here on C-D that should fulfill your need for your daily dose of Obama bashing.

No diversion. Many on this thread claim torture is wrong. Killing is wrong, too. So why is the U.S. still killing others during Obama's presidency?
Answer that.
