Not really. I live in a gun-free New York City which has half of the murder rate of Dallas and Houston, even though there are more tourist visiting NYC in a day than Dallas and Houston combined in a month. I am talking from experience.
Gun control works.
Are you a southern philosopher or something? Guns are for killing, they are weapons. The military and police receive special training and have a special function in the society.
Neither LE or the military receives any "specialized" firearms training, unless they are special operations. Then, they train with a larger variety of firearms , practice regularly, or a bit more than beat cops or rear echelon types. I am a bit jaded with "tactic all" LE teams.and would like to see that status not handed out so easy . Especially in light of numerous , recent incidents, in which innocent people were hosed with bullets. Some "special function".
This is probably the worst statement in the debate, yet also, the most common.
I say statement, not argument.
Look, it doesn't matter if you use a gun to deter or to intimidate, prop open a door or stir a post of chili with....it's only PURPOSE is to blow holes in other living things.

I don't recall the Olympians blowing holes in other living things.
