What makes any of you think that sexual preference is a choice. The homosexual folks I knew and know have all said that they did not choose this most difficult life style.
A candidate’s sexual preference is irrelevant to being able to be president. The only relevant consideration is if they are sexually irresponsible, child molesters or sex addicts. Then their judgment and/or mental health should be a consideration. If they keep their sexual activities to consenting adults it is none of my concern.

Well, it was a poll question and I answered honestly.
If it is not relevant then why ask the question in a poll?
BTW do the homosexuals you know feel that same sex attraction is an affliction that was thrust upon them (sounds that way)?
But here we go again. . . there are many threads regarding whether homosexuality is a choice (and obviously a major disagreement ensues) however this is not what this thread is about but whether one would vote for one or not.
Judging from what I've seen in Iowa so far, I think the nation would have been better off if there had been a rule that ONLY gay people could run for President this year...
Would you elect an openly gay/lesbian for President? If he/she was an ideal candidate, had a good vision of where the nation should be heading, was well respected, and all of the other things we look for in a President, would the issue of his/her sexual orientation prevent you to vote for them?
Do you mean the candidate matches perfectly all my views and beliefs but is simply gay?
Doubtful. I'm a conservative Republican. I highly doubt there is a gay man or woman out there who has the same values I hold, that I feel are important to keep this country going without pushing their own agenda.
Now, if by some miracle there were, then I'd really have no problem with it, as long as they weren't wanting to be called First Lady.
What goes on in the bedroom stays in the bedroom, though.
Evidently not!! if someone is running as an open homosexual for President, they are bringing it out of the bedroom and asking us to help them put it in the Whitehouse!! Will never happen!

Well, everyone is then, obviously, bringing it out of the bedroom that they're heterosexual.
I mean, if the only way that we knew said candidate was homosexual was that their "partner" that they bring to all events was the same gender, it's not "bringing out of the bedroom".
The candidates who are married like to show off their "family" to garner support.
