Now, surely the market has a big part to do with that. But, unless you can prove that the LA market would drive the price up as exponentially as it did.....it's still a reasonable guess just as the scandal driving up the price.

EDIT: And the Bucks sold for 550 million a few weeks ago....

None of this backs up the assertion that the forced sale drove the value up. At all.

Also, comparing the a franchise in Milwaukee to a franchise in LA? Do you have ANY idea how pro sports teams are valued? It doesn't appear you do.

This morning I heard on the radio that they had declared Donald Sterling incompetent (his ex wife did)....of course I never met Donald Sterling but in the interview he didn't come across as incompetent.

What did you not understand?

Clearly, if you understood what a market was, you would know that I made the obvious distinction. If you were able to make that distinction....you would have then be able to provide a comprehensive breakdown of how an LA market for an NBA team, as opposed to Milwaukee, drives up the value by 4x

Here is something to ponder....the Dodgers sold for $2.1 billion. It is also a baseball franchise. A baseball franchise that brings in MUCH more revenue. And it is also a EXPONENTIALLY more DECORATED brand. Multiple championships with an insane legacy to boot. With a much more loyal and rabid fan base.

Compare that to the Clippers who have none of that in common.

So, now I ask you.

Why did the Clippers sell for nearly 4 times the amount of the single largest NBA franchise acquisition in the history of the NBA.....which transpired only a few weeks ago???

sterling has lost his reputation, most hated man in america, and lost something only 30 people in america have.

sterling would take the clippers back over the 2 billion sale in a second, but he knows he's done.

This about sums it up. It was like a very public boot licking of the PC brown shirts. IMHO, I hope Sterling makes billions off this just to scramble the egg on their face.

To think players are crying fowl...these millionaires that throw a ball through a hoop and act like they're repressed somehow.

The worst stars have been BBall players historically. Long gone are the classy players like West, Johnson, Bird, and Jordan. Only James, Kidd, Nash, and a very few select classy players remain.

Oh sure, he lost a basketball team and gained $2B, plus all the lawsuits. Poor guy! They showed him!

Keep in mind his civil rights were abused. NOBODY should expect a personal call to go public legally!

His GF and all those (CNN, TMZ) who published the ILLEGAL TAPE will be writing BIG FAT CHECKS...mark my words!

Seriously. Making millions is hardly indicative of being repressed. Furthermore, the NBA anymore is a joke.

This dude is old, sick and already has tons of money. While he's definitely received a huge return on his investment, how much in his life is really gonna change? It's not like he went from nothing to billionaire status.

these are billionaires. the 2 billion sale isnt of importance to him. the clippers are though, which is why him losing them is much more damaging then this 2 billion sale.

and he isnt going to get anything from that tape going public.
