When did "grievance" become serviceable as a dirty word? People have all sorts of grievances, some good, some bad.

No, many voted for him first time around because they believed him a better choice than the old man and the ditz, same with Mittens the second time around.

That's why I did, and I said so at the time.

It is fun to read this thread and still see so many conservatives clueless about why people actually voted for Obama. It will be good for us in 2016 as they will be helpless to stop Hillary from using and building on his coalition.

With kids that didn't experience life and being that it was "cool" to vote as if Obama
Young girls told to vote for Obama as if he was their first (sick).
Still living with mommy and daddy yea they turned out to vote against their own benefit.
Blacks voting for Obama based on him being black
Liberals attacking black conservatives

The list of ridiculous reasons people voting for Obama goes on.

Basically the same reason it happens in Europe. Results count and many do not like the results of policies.

Well the young will suffer the consequences of their uneducated, lack of experience choice. Oh well.

Constant Obama bashing on this forum also from democrats.

Please, elaborate and enlight an European.
I don't think many people did support his views. If you look at the exit polls from the 2012 election, Obama lost in every category. Every category. People voted for him because they liked him, as a person, and not because they agreed with the policies he promoted. On the issues, the public preferred his opponent. So once Obama was shown to have outright lied to the nation, his popularity plummeted. He had nothing to fall back on.

If a leader has the general support of the people, he can weather a few storms. Reagan and Clinton both had broad support among the public, so Reagan was able to survive the Iran-Contra situation and Clinton was able to survive the Monica Lewinsky situation. But Obama never had the general support of the people. The people liked him, not his policies. His presidency rested solely on the trust and respect the people had for him personally. Once the news got out that he broke that trust with his lies about Obamacare, the bottom fell out.

This is true. It is highly likely that Hillary will win if she does decide to run (and that is coming from a Libertarian).
