From the case files of "There really is a collective consciousness", here's today's Thomas Sowell column pretty much saying the same thing I wrote an hour ago: Many people who are painfully disappointed with President Obama have no real reason to be.

Bottom line...it was all telegraphed from a good distance. If you're disappointed by Obama, the source of that disappointment can be found in any mirror.

Please, elaborate and enlight an European.
Obama's platform was center-left but he has governed center-right. He has pissed off a ton of liberals. The GOP was pissed off from the get-go because they have to pander to their... less than tolerant base.

Um no.

It's not a lie. Point out any posts on this forum made by posters that haven't said anything racist on this site that objectively called out the President's policies and was called racist for that.
Half the time it's the con who wails, "You probably think I'm a racist for being critical of Obama."

No one else responds to that because it's not true, but other cons chime in with "See, we told you you'd be called a racist for criticizing Obama."

Dozens more show up and repeat the theme, and by the time the thread has died out, they've all convinced themselves that some liberal called a poster a racist for disagreeing with Obama.

Wash, rinse, repeat. It's actually an interesting phenomenon to observe on this forum. The power of groupthink.

No. Congress' job is to govern, not obstruct. Compromise or get the hell out.

Here ya go, cons. This explains it all in once sentence.

Now back to your regularly-scheduled thread of fiction, mind-reading and liberal-bashing by conservatives.

The job of Congress is to legislate. As the branch most directly accountable to the people, they should compromise the least, while those less accountable to the People - the Executive - should compromise more. Were this a monarchy that rules a token parliament, then you'd be correct, but it's a federalist representative republic, so you're wrong.

What is this in response to... semantics?

By govern what did you think I meant? The legislative branch is supposed to legislate; not obstruct.
