Claiming Israel is an innocent victim is like saying the US was not an aggressor in Iraq.

The difference is that Israel targeted a Hamas terrorist and his child got killed by accident. The Israeli child got killed simply because he was Israeli!

It is naïve to think Israel is an innocent victim in this war. It takes two for a war. This is similar to saying the US was an innocent victim in WW2. No good guy, bad guy when innocent people are killed, and both hold a certain responsibility.

You summed it up! And prefer to call them a flock or herd, of sheeple

Excellent strategy. Israel took out an apartment building today, after warning everyone to get out. So down went the building, and with it the Hamas presence in that building.

But that's not the big benefit. The big benefit is economically creating a lot of homeless people who are now going to tax Hamas with a massive humanitarian need. And perhaps more Gazans might get the message that electing terrorists is maybe a bad idea.

Israel should target more dense population structures after evacuation warnings. Basically take town every apartment tower in Gaza City until Hamas is so overwhelmed that they will need to spend 2 decades picking up the pieces.

Of course, a better strategy would be to just occupy the whole damned city and just eliminate Hamas on a metaphysical basis. But although that would be the most humane way to go in the long run, I don't think Israel has the stomach to do it, even though it would work best.

marc - thanks for sharing! From what I understand, Israel has been doing this all along. But they were accused of all kinds of atrocities. I'm glad the truth is finally out.

Kids, schmids. When the parents stop electing leaders who send rockets into foreign countries, the kids might anticipate a life of peace. Until then, the kids are the victims of their parents. Parents who are part of the problem: a corrupt, dark, bankrupt and neanderthal culture of mysticism, anarchy, and chaos. Nobody can claim to be innocent - they elected and sponsored the terrorists.

Actually the NY Times states that this is new:

Quote:
Israel has fired missiles to destroy apartments within a building, but this was the first time since the start of its military offensive on July 8 that a strike had completely brought down so large a building.
The pain factor needs to go up. Apparently Hamas is not understanding reality - that they will never succeed in furthering the life of Gazans by firing rockets into foreign countries.

This might be a good way to do it without actually targeting civilians. Start taking down the skyscrapers. This will create mass misery and mass homelessness. Hamas will be so tied up dealing with furious citizens that they might start to discover the beauty of NOT firing missiles into foreign countries.
