I think the one drop rule is far from dead. Your experience may be different although hard for me to believe that living in South Carolina you are unaware of this despite the fact that your experiences as you have described them are far removed from the experiences of most black or mixed race americans.
Ah assumptions. Wonderful thing. Actually. I favor neither black nor white, I favor both although the blue eyes tend to throw people in general. That's the thing, there's so many mixed race in this country and a lot of times, we don't necessarily look like one race or another. I've heard an amusing term ascribed to people like myself - exotic. Not sure what that means!

Well you certainly proved where you stand based on all your posts.

Sure, lets deny there is any racism in this country and it will just go away by itself.

You made the assumption that because I live in South Carolina, I would necessarily have been confronted about my race. Honestly, not really. My race has only been a topic when I make it a topic.

It looks like your vote was the exception. Most Americans vote for either 1 of 2 parties...

Who's denying there is racism? How old are you? Do some reading about what real racism was about before the civil rights movement.

Today it's more about perpetuating HATE based on the color of one's skin - black AND white people.

No that wasn't my assumption. You have been quite clear that's not the case in many of your posts on other threads.

I have never really encountered difficulties in my life from being a woman. That doesn't stop me from understanding what average women have faced and still face with regard to being deprived of equal opportunity or discrimination they have faced or continue to face.
