No, there's nothing wrong with identifying as mixed race.
I think the one drop rule is far from dead. Your experience may be different although hard for me to believe that living in South Carolina you are unaware of this despite the fact that your experiences as you have described them are far removed from the experiences of most black or mixed race americans.
Ah assumptions. Wonderful thing. Actually. I favor neither black nor white, I favor both although the blue eyes tend to throw people in general. That's the thing, there's so many mixed race in this country and a lot of times, we don't necessarily look like one race or another. I've heard an amusing term ascribed to people like myself - exotic. Not sure what that means!

No that wasn't my assumption. You have been quite clear that's not the case in many of your posts on other threads.
I have never really encountered difficulties in my life from being a woman. That doesn't stop me from understanding what average women have faced and still face with regard to being deprived of equal opportunity or discrimination they have faced or continue to face.
