Basically, it comes down to what the majority of the people want. Last I saw the majority of the people in the US are fine with Gay marriage, just like the majority of the people are ok with Pro choice, and the majority are unhappy with the direction the president is taking us.

What behavior? Going to work, owning a home, raising family, soccer practice, karate classes, running errands, grocery shopping, taking care of each other when sick, worrying over college expenses, the cost of braces, walking the dogs, etc? You know those things that families do?

Children are not raised in a vacuum. They have male and female teacher, coaches, family members. Children have both male and female influences in their lives every day.
We can and do have children using the same means as many heterosexuals.
Yes, unfortunately, to the detriment of the child. It should be outlawed. Screw up their minds at such a young age! It should be considered child abuse and endangerment.

Of course having a 'Good' mom and dad is ideal, even though many turn out fine with single moms and to a lessor extent single dads.
Most of the people that act if dads are disposable either had dads that were absent, took off, or abused and molested them. To those that were raised in this environment a dad would not be desirable from their POV. They could not think otherwise.
For the majority of us that had 'Good' Dads and moms we know their value.
