$15,000,000 / 12,000 = 1250 dollars a year per person.
20 hours a week X 52 = 1040 hours a year.
This works out to $1.20 an hour.
Nice. Buy some steaks with that, homie. Hell, try to feed just 1 kid with that Just try it. We'll laugh while you do your 20 hours a week for 24 dollars. At least some of those people above and below this post will. That's all they think you are worth per hour. HAH HAH AHA HA.

Good. I'd like to see more states do it. Similar requirements should be instituted for other handouts.
I have no problem with giving people some help when they need it, but I do get tired of living in a state where I have to pay oppressive income taxes so the state can give free healthcare, free food, free housing, and free utilities to the lazy and irresponsible.
I think we should do away with food stamps. Leave charity to charity organizations. If people can't afford food than they should go to a food pantry/bank.

So how many hours do you work a month to earn the money to pay for your healthcare, food, housing, utilities? And do they thank you? Nope they still bit*ch and moan they want more.

Tell me where to get the crystal ball you use to tell the difference between the truly needy and the "lazy, irresponsible" people?
Perhaps your perception is that everyone who receives any social safety net is "lazy and irresponsible?"

And if they don't live near one? And if the pantry is understocked?

Most do go.

Ohio has this requirement for anyone without children. I think its a good thing.
