I don't believe they should be using the tax payer money to take a vacation and before any of you say they are using their money , No secret service salarys are paid for by the American taxpayers and Im just sick over this pair in the white house going to Hawaii for vacation at all . You should do public service such as working in a soup kitchen or shelter so that you can get an understanding of how you are truly running this country or should I say ruining it . I guess he and his crew are too good to serve in a soup kitchen or to do public service . Sorry but I have no use for these people I hope they are out of the white and not too soon for me !!!! The rest of us can volunteer for public service why not them ? , or are they too priviledged ? They make me sick .

Didn't Obama say something of the sort during one of his Presidential campaigns that he was going to create something as to where ALL Americans would HAVE TO put in so many volunteer hours?

He did, but it wasn't mandatory. The idea I recall is 100 hours of community service for $4K tuition credit. The proposal didn't pass Congress.

My employer pays for my vacation, so yes, I suppose Obama's employer also pays for his. Not sure what the point of this thread is? Obama can't take a vacation, but all CEO's of major companies not only make 10 times what Obama makes and more, they get to go on vacations on company paid yachts?
What a stupid thread as if Obama doesn't deserve a vacation. He does!
I propose that from now on, we only elect Presidents who hail from Northern Virginia. Then we won't have to worry about the cost of a Christmas vacation spent at home. We might have to pay for a round trip on one of the toll roads, but hopefully we'll be able to afford that.
He gets his Christmas Vacation again!!
While most Americans are working thru Christmas and New Years to feed their families and pay their rent.
Or pay for their health.
And along with the state this country is in!!

I know! I'm from Texas, and I would love to be anywhere but here for Christmas. That area of Texas is especially desolate and un interesting. It's blah. At least far west Texas has some interestng views.
I have a feeling the Secret Service is saying they're happier going to Hawaii than to Texas also.
