They are too low to the ground to capture any measurable power in most realistic urban settings. When they mount the tree to the top of a 30 foot pole it will lose its appeal.
Stick 1000 watts of panels and enphase inverters on your roof. It will cost less, take up very little space, and deliver more usuable energy.

If the utility can purchase or produce the power for 4 cents and they are paying you 10 cents the difference is passed onto the other ratepayers.
