Yep, life ain't fair, and life is tough, but that has nothing to do with someone needing government assistance to be able to get by. If that bothers you, then maybe you should listen to what your dad use to say.

I did listen to my dad, that's why I'm not sitting here whining about how unfair it is that I only make $7.50 an hour. Nope, I worked hard, went to college, went to grad school, dealt and am living a very comfortable life.

No, you just started a thread whining about others who make $7.50 an hour.

To which I responded: "If you're only qualified to earn minimum wage, you shouldn't be having a family you're trying to feed"

Their daddy's are the federal government. When things go bad many of these companies run crying to the government to make things all better for them. Unfortunately neither side of the equation is really any different here.

I wasn't whining about it. I could care less if someone makes minimum wage or not, as long as my fries are hot.

What I was commenting on is how dumb people are who can only make minimum wage decide to bring children into the equation.

Poor decisions seem to repeat themselves in someone people's lives.

Good point. It's why the GOP is passing laws relaxing the regulations on Wall Street.

Sorry, but that sounds like whining to me. Life isn't fair, sometimes people will make different choices than you.

Going to college, putting off marriage and children until you have some financial stability, not having more children than my income can afford, etc. Those are the choices I made.

If others decided to drop out of school, not go to college, not develop a trade, get married and have children without weighing the financial aspects of those decisions....well, those are dumb choices.

So, who isn't getting the fair shake in life?

Those who think of minimum wage jobs as a “career” suffer from the same problem that caused much of the housing bubble that burst and launched us into the economic mess we are only just now starting to get out of. They wanted it all, right now. Life just doesn't work this way.

This is not an argument to do away with the minimum wage. There should be a wage base, to keep the unscrupulous from taking advantage of these entry-level employees, But when politicians start talking about using law to raise minimum wage , you have to consider the ripple effects.

This is a free market/profit driven economy and emotion and charity just have no place in it. Why do ANY employer must hire an inexperienced worker for $15 per hour?

Explain sincne when minimum wage jobs supposed to be designed to support whole families?

Seems for those who caused the economic mess, it does. It didn't take long for the government to make sure the cash was rolling in again.

The same argument I used for Q.E.

As I've argued it's not but I would like someone explain to me why I have to bail out a private bank that screwed up?
