Cue references to bawling calves ...

Aquariums and zoos are more about conservation and less about profit and many are non-profits. Sea World is not. Out of a $75.00 ticket .05 of it goes to conservation efforts. The people who work with the whale are not biologists or behaviorists they're performers. Orcas are far too large an animal to keep in captivity and the only reason there is a push back is $.

Would you take kids to see elephants housed in 20X20 rooms?

Oh about 12,000lbs. in the case of Orcas. And about a 2/3rds reduction in lifespan.

Sadly I think he would and without qualms. I mean, why care about any living thing other than yourself? That's just plain silly.

Sure and I've already noted it. Entertainment = bad. As a meal = good.

Here we go again. I've seen the tanks. They have no problem turning around in them. Just more hyperbole.

Zoo's keep Manatee's in much smaller enclosures. Yep they aren't as big but their pools are a tiny fraction of what they are used to.
