I cannot answer that. The Duggars stated very clearly that all were treated by a licensed counselor. Maybe that counselor can answer why it wasn't reported?

We know the Duggars are liars - they've done it for years on TV masquerading as great parents and human beings when neither are remotely true. Also, there is the possibility it was reported but wasn't "documented" as it should have been. Josh was brought to the police headquarters by his parents and a witness and told what he did to an officer who did not do anything after that.

I know that blaming "MSM" is trendy and in right now, but has it ever occurred to you that maybe, just maybe some of us are capable of independent thought? In my case, years ago in college I did research on the Quiverfull movement which included the Duggars in the early days of their TV show. I base my opinions on the Duggars on their own blog, their words, Michelle's horrible robocalls, and the religious leaders they follow.
The Duggars have never stopped from spreading their hate. Josh Duggar worked for a homophobic hate group, for crying out loud! Why should I reserve my disgust with their misogynistic, controlling Gothardist cult when they have never showed similar respect for others - going as far as continually lying that the GBLTQ community is somehow a threat to children.

This is true - there are discrepancies between what they said, and what is in the reports. Also, as one person on here said, they used the master bedroom as a barricade, and put locks on the girls' bedroom door(s). This is not the behavior of people who think the problem has been dealt with, is it? This is not the behavior of a family who feels that the girls are safe, is it?

No, they took him to see an off-duty police officer and family friend who; a) Was also a mandatory reporter and never made an official report. And b) Is now serving a 56-year-prison term on child pornography charges.

That is different from what they said in the interview. They said they took him to the police headquarters and brought along a witness. That's where Josh confessed to the officer on duty (not a friend). Again, misinformation has been spread since day 1, but so many want to hold on to it. That officer has been asked to verify this (yes he is behind bars now, but how was anyone to know what would happen in the future). He verified that info. He was not a family friend.
I, too, cannot understand why people cannot just take them at their word that this was not a life destroying event, that they dealt with it both personally and as a family, they hold no ill will toward their brother and they have moved well beyond it. They love each other, they love their brother, they love their parents. Regardless that their naysayers think of the Duggars as pathologically dysfunctional, THEY don't see themselves that way. And in the long run that's all that counts.
