I wonder whether we'll get 2 months of front page coverage, conspiracy theories coming out of Daily Kos, jokes, cartoons, letters to the editor, etc., as we did after Dick Cheney's hunting accident.

That's a good question. Why don't you ask your fellow travelers in the MSM why they went whole-hog, full-retard over the hunting accident? I remember the Seattle Times ran something like around 15 stories on the incident, including several front-page, above-the-fold items, along with editorials, cartoons, letters-to-the-editor, etc.
Well it isn't every day a Vice President shoots someone in the face. Falling off a bike is less exciting news.
More likely it was because he is only one of two president's to be impeached.
Technically he was impeached by the House and acquitted by the Senate.
