Gays do not want to settle for a civil union. They don't want to accept the word of God that Homosexuality is wrong, but they want to change what GOD says is the definition of marriage. This is dangerous territory for America if the majority supports gay marriage.
Why do you say that gays "won't settle" for civil unions? If you are married, you have a civil union. Because *ALL* legal marriages in the US are civil unions. We know this because marriage licenses are issued by the state. The religious sanctification is strictly optional.
What god says depends very much on who is asserting what god says. I've noticed there is a pretty big disagreement about what god says on any topic. So I pretty much am not impressed.
But the poll was also remarkable for showing a rather dramatic drop in support for gay marriage in one year, after years of uninterrupted rises. Do you favor “allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally” is an imperfect question, but it does allow tracking across time. Overall support for gay marriage dropped from 54 percent to 49 percent.
Additionally, a majority of Americans (52%) oppose redefining marriage, and nearly 2/3 of voters polled say where a candidate stands on marriage is important in selecting their candidates.
As we have seen in Ohio, with the polling figures over the last month, support for same-sex marriage is declining as citizens become increasingly alarmed and disturbed by the bullying tactics carried out by many in the same-sex marriage movement.
A new poll conducted by Vanderbilt University (link is external) has found that statewide support for marriage equality has fallen. As you can see in the following graphic, support for marriage equality had remained steady at 32% since May 2013 but slipped to 27% in the new poll. Tennesseans who'd prefer there be no legal recognition of same-sex relationships leaped 10 points to 48% after experiencing a loss in support in the previous poll.

I'm more alarmed and disturbed by the bullying tactics carried out by some of the religious types in this thread. That's the real agenda here, and its a dangerous one. Their message seems to be: "Fall in lockstep with us or go to hell."

You are free to ignore Biblical views, but you cannot ignore people using the strong arm of the new laws to bully people based on their religious views. Lot of people are waking up to the new reality, and they reject it.

They don't because it don't really travel to other states, and don't provide the same rights as a marriage does under the law. That is the problem. It is separate but equal 2015.

So i take it you are against Michigan's new law ?
Further more, i will probably never understand your argument against gay marriage or your continued attempt to claim support for it is falling.
You seem to have a problem with the simply fact that they are fighting for their belief, not that they have that belief and that is a strange stance. Its the same stance many Confederate apologist have by saying " The South would have eventually come around".

You are picking the polls that agree with you and skipping over the ones that disagree including the OP, one poll does not discredit the other, especially when some of these polls are state polls while others are National, and when someone of them specifically poll registered voters and others dont, and when one poll specifically says they didnt poll people who had previously been apart of the poll.
You can only claim support has declined when a person who was previously for it, has changed their mind and is now against it.
By your own logic, this poll(Vandy) didnt follow its own definition of decline.
