I would say a majority of people who support same-sex marriage support it but it isn't something they spend a lot of time thinking about. Also, NC is still a conservative state.

This argument is illogical. Why should a gay person marry someone of the opposite sex? Why would they be in a relationship with someone of the same sex, be in love, want to marry that person but because it's illegal in whatever state they live in, they just shrug & say well whatever, I want to get married so I'll just choose someone of the opposite sex? If heterosexual marriage was illegal, would you shrug & say oh well, I guess I'll marry someone of the same sex? Just stupid stupid reasoning no matter how many times people try to believe it's rational.

How so?

I've known more than a few marriages I thought were illogical, but I kept my lip zipped and said nothing. Other people's marriages have no impact on me.

Let's try that logic on some other sorts of discrimination, lessee - religion?

"Others may worship Allah in their local mosque, and you are also entitled to worship Allah in the local mosque, so there is no issue with other being allowed to do something you are not."

Politics? "Others may vote for Comrade Stalin in the next election, and you are also entitled to vote for Comrade Stalin in the next election, so there is no issue with other being allowed to do something you are not."

Yeah, I think we're lucky your ilk is not running things.

Then you should understand. it doesn't have to be logical, many things are not and SSM is one of them.

As I said, you will find out when your time comes.

I don't need a fairytale, either. I go by belief and faith.

Who cares what people do in the bedroom? Conservatives are supposed to be about less government intrusion, right? So why would they want the government telling what the people can do in their bedroom?

The difference is: I don't complain about what other people do.

See the difference?
