Maybe, But a lot of people who fly that flag are not racists.

My friends always fly their confederate flags when they visit me in my neighborhood. (honestly, I think it is cool as hell. It is so different and refreshing. ) They think everyone in my neighborhood is snobby and pretentious. This is a generalization, of course, but I can see my friends' point.

I have friends from all racial, economical backgrounds. I love them all dearly. They are my family, they are my people. Some of them are just proud to be southerners.

A peace sign wearing racist is still a racist. To me, intention is everything.

And once again, we see that conservatism is really just liberalism... a few decades too late.
As I just wrote in another thread, damned if they do, damned if they don't. The whole "GOP = racist" meme persists no matter what the GOP does.

We demand you take down that flag, but now that you took it down, you still suck because we had to demand it and you only did it because you were scared of us demanding it, so you are racist!!

And this is why every "the GOP must confront racism" demand is pure nonsense. It's "when did you stop beating your wife" false dilemma gotcha on steroids.

No problem with that - just keep it off public property.

The PEOPLE of SC wanted that flag flown at the capital. It was a big "FU" by the Dixicrats to Lyndon Johnson for signing the Civil Rights Act.

Lightbulb South Carolina Governor Haley To Call For Confederate Flag’s Removal

Now, all they need to do to cast off the past is to rechristen the highways they've named after confederate generals.

Generals who led the fight to maintain slavery. Highways that SC blacks pay taxes to maintain.

Both of South Carolina's Republican United States Senators are on board, as is Presidential candidate (and likely Republican Presidential nominee in 2016) Jeb Bush.

However, I'm sure there are other Republican Presidential candidates who will call for the GOP to continue shooting itself in the foot on this issue.

Considering this flag is being moved, if I had money to invest right now I would find a flag company that makes confederate flags and end up with a bundle. I may have touched a confederate flag in my lifetime and not remember it but at this moment, because of these racist people and their hateful attitude I want to go out and find the biggest confederate flag I can and stick it on the back of the pickup we haven't bought yet. LOL Those flags are going to sell like hotcakes.

Because of the safety issue, I probably won't do it; but in my heart I already have.

SWASTIKA :

The swastika (also known as the gammadion cross, cross cramponnée, or manji) (as a Chinese character: 卐 or 卍) is a symbol that generally takes the form of an equilateral cross, with its four legs bent at 90 degrees. It is considered to be a sacred and auspicious symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
So are Hindus and Buddhist and Jains to be associated with NAZI Germany when they use the swastika?
. . .
Just because some racists picked up the Confederate Battle flag and made it a symbol of their racism, doesn't make it so. And just because some people associate the flag with racism, doesn't make it so.
Read my posts slower than you did the first time around. Defintely do so, if you must respond to it.
