China is the ideal country for most conservatives. Of course, they would be the ones running it, not the ones living in it.
And they are right wing nationalist protectionist conservatives.

I worked in China and we were told to not mention anything negative about the government and not to prosthelitize...beyond that, pretty much everything was okay. I found that the Chinese live most of their lives with little government interference in their daily lives. Shanghai seemed among the most capitalistic cities I've ever been in and it was an exciting place.

From a project standpoint (I work for an engineering company that perform consulting on projects), once the Chinese government decides to do something, there is no one to get in there way so you can move really fast. The flip side is that if they screw up, you have no recourse.

I take China as it is, a different culture but not as different from USA as you might think. They do some things very well and it is a very safe place that is growing fast. At the same time, they don't really have freedom of speech and the pollution there is way out of control. I think they are getting pretty good governance but will have to deal with their pollution sooner the better.

The chinese must have made an anti Obama comment. The chinese are on a long list of folks in the world that conservatives hate:

Arabs
Muslims
Mexicans/hispanics
Europeans
Chinese
Nigerians/kenyans/africans
Etc.

Another liberal presuming to "know" what conservatives believe. If that was true, they would not be liberals.

Both Parties Love China if there is money to be made there.

The Top Corporations in this country love China and have utilized labor there to make our widgets so they can make bank.

If I invest in a company in North Korea or move a company there and all its infrastructure, those actions would be supporting North Korea and its people. No twisting words can change that fact.

Our Corporate overlords shipped tons of manufacturing equipment to China and those same Corporate overlords have been funding both parties for the last 30 years.

Maybe an example in the news might bolster your argument?

China helped north Vietnam, helped north korea.
