Ok I am attracted to megan good and draya but overall never saw the fascination with super light chicks. Also it's hard for me to understand it either but I know it's a problem one that is harder to understand as someone not super high yellow or dark skinned. I did meet a guy who told me that he can't date dark women and prefer women my complexion or lighter because it ensures his kids won't be too dark. He was dark skinned. It struck me as odd considering that he was dark himself. I admit that I used to only mess with men my complexion or lighter. Since I was a kid it was who I was attracted to. I couldn't help it. My dad was dark and my mom was, so it wasn't like I was conditioned to like light men, and didn't have a role model. I just did.

My sons father is Puerto Rican and black and he's very light but the majority of women he dated before me and was attracted to were dark women. He grew up in the city in Chicago where dark men with masculine features were what was hot. He was always called white boy or pretty boy because he looks like a pretty boy lmao. He compensated by dating darker black women and I was one of the first lighter chicks he dated.

After messing with him, no more pretty boys for me lol. And now I love myself darker skin guys. I never thought I would date a darker man but this one was so aggressive and all he had to do was stand behind me really close to my butt and my panties would be drooling lol. Sorry tmi. In any case ever since then I love darker men. It's strange how attraction works.

One thing that does annoy me is this whole notion of what looks more black from skin tone to hair, to physical features, body types, etc. It's so divisive and it does nothing but cause this seperation amongst blk folks.
I don't know what I just read, but I like it... Lmao J/k!!

The story you said about the guy who said he wanted lighter kids (while it doesn't surprise me) is very pathetic and weird. I just don't understand the mindset. I just want my kid(s) to have a face that looks like mine and more importantly to be healthy. I'm almost 19 though, my focus is college, lol.

Damn right! Like in the story I posted ultimately it doesn't matter. I get mistaken for being of Hispanic descent frequently, accent and my facial features but the cops in that incident saw a Black male. You're right, it's just divisive nonsense.

Do share how he compensated?

This is hilarious, because there should be no confusion. Either you have brown/dark skin and share the phenotype and genotype of West African ancestral roots, or you don't. If you don't, no problem, but please stop calling yourself Black, please start identifying as mixed race. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being mixed. Embrace who you are and stop trying to steal the crown of bona fide black women.
