It wasn't until this school year that he/she decided that wasn't good enough so the school allowed him/her to use both the girls bathroom and the girls locker room.

This became an issue because a girl encountered "an intact male" (the transgender) in the girls locker room.

Correct!

This is not about a bathroom, or a bathroom stall (ie, where there is a door that closes to conceal the person using the toilet and his or her private parts)

This is about a locker room.

Girls are expected to change clothes in the locker room before and after PE class. And to shower in communal showers after PE class.

Teenage girls are thus under orders to expose their naked bodies to a biological male. And not just for a brief period of time in front of a locker (Where in theory they could tug an oversize tee shirt or towel over one part of the body while transitioning lower body clothing, then throw the tee shirt or towel over the chest while awkwardly changing upper body clothing. Awkward but doable).

NO! These girls are instructed to make themselves naked and vulnerable in the showers, fully nude, for the several minutes it takes to wash themselves and rinse off!

Brava! For the young ladies who stand up for their decency, self respect, and integrity!

Two totally different situations. The guy is a male, he can pretend all he wants but the fact is he is a male and girls locker room is for females. Sorry the term bigot does not apply.

Of coarse it does. You are disagreeing with a liberal. Therefore you are a bigot, a sexist, a homophobe and a racist. (Did I leave anything out?) Oh yeah and a rwnj...

Okay so I think if someone honestly believes they were born the wrong sex and they feel the need to make that change, with all the medical issues that go along with that decision, by all means, do what makes you happy. That is a LONG way from expecting school age kids to accept having a pre operative transsexual share the locker room with them. I do not think it unreasonable to require the trans child use their own private bathroom.

The other issue is, we now have folks (male to female) trans people who have no interest in having surgery to "complete" their transition and prefer to be (for lack of a more PC word) chicks with dicks. I "understand" that some choose to live that way and some people are even sexually attracted to that but that is not something that I, even as an adult, need to be subjected too, in a locker room or anywhere else. For those who are "gender neutral" or whatever the term of the week is, by all means, live your life but don't "put it out there" in public for others to deal with. There are limits to what society finds acceptable and a "woman" with a penis in the locker room is, in my opinion, more than most people want to see.

From kindergarten to the end of high school, boys and girls should go to separate schools and wear uniforms.

Boys should wear jackets, ties, white button-down shirts, belts, slacks and dress black shoes.

Girls should wear white blouses and skirts (all the same pattern/color) and sensible shoes, all the same style. No make-up, accessories or different hair-do's.

Boys should be taught by men, girls by women.

Male teachers should wear jackets, ties, slacks, etc. Female teachers should wear skirts, blouses, etc.

Boys and girls should march between classes, always under escort.

If they misbehave, they should receive the appropriate corporal punishment.

When they go to gym/PE, they can change into the appropriate clothes for sports/exercise.

They should all carry the same style book bags/backpacks.

They should not be allowed to have/use laptops, tablets, smart phones or cell phones.

Transgenders? Each school district can have one special school for male-to-female transgenders, and one special school for female-to-male transgenders.

As for the overall situation, if we are talking about showering, then I could agree.

But restrooms and changing for P.E.(no nudity) then absolutely not. People share bathrooms and changing rooms all the times, regardless of gender. I would wager these girls saw more this summer at pool parties than they do when this girl is in her boxers.
There ya go!

All these handwringers obsessing over this when there are much larger issues going completely ignored.

There are nudist colonies all over the planet and those folks seem to get along just fine without all of this faux outrage over the mere sight of a dangly supposedly corrupting lil' darlings life forever thereafter.

What idiot in his or her right mind would suppose anyone commencing the gender reassignment would do so if it was as simple as just being happy with your birth gender?

People hypothesizing this dude is the one pushing for this ignore the reality of his parents probably following advise from medical practitioner professionals who suggest he immerse himself earlier rather than later. Cripes, it must be rare air indeed up there on that pedestal y'all got yourselves.

Why would anyone subject themselves to scorn from the world renown worst peer group you're likely to ever endure your entire life?

As I pointed out before, anyone going through that would have lust for 'another' female so far down on their scale so as to make it a blip on the radar compared to the kid giving your precious daughter a ride home after school or the still-in-the-closet lesbian with the locker right next door to hers.

Truth be told he would be at more risk from these whining narcissists all clamouring to be the first to have hands on.

These kids are going to be faced with this conundrum at some point in their lives as transgenderism is not going away so why turn them into bigots now so they can perpetuate the kind of chit their parents so obviously excel at, if some on here are any indication?

Much ado over nothing.

Perfect. Relegate the fruit loops to their own world.

Why was it so hard for you to understand my point? No one said that 150 was in a restroom at once. When you do something like this, all you are saying is that you don't have an actual argument to make.

No, they do not share restrooms and changing rooms all the time. Again, first point above applies.
