I am in the trucking industry. 8 years ago, there were more trucks on the road and more freight available. Today there is less freight being moved and what is there pays much less to move it. You can talk about a robust economy all you want, but if there isn't the freight on the nations highways to justify your claims, it isn't true.

The linked article above says the job market is on fire. Though if you look at the comments not one of the readers believe it. They say because their family and friends don't have great job, the government data is flawed, or at worst- a complete lie.

Does anyone remember what the people online used to say when there were articles about the low unemployment rate during the last booms with official unemployment rates in the years 1997-2000 and 2005-2007. Did the people complain about the job market back then too?
People are getting jobs, but wages are stagnant, and have been that way for quite a while.

economists are mostly saying the same thing about wages : compensation is going up, wages are not, and the difference is healthcare.

Might be a regional issue. Here in NC there is a large need for CDL drivers. I know the CEO of a regional trucking company and he is going crazy due to lack of drivers. This week his depots all along the east coast are going full bore and are still looking for drivers.
