Wrong. People claim we don't have a problem with legally purchased guns.

60+% of the deaths are suicides. We know factually that disarming people doesn't dissuade them from killing themselves, so this 60+% is only added for shock value because without it there's no compelling argument.

Of the remaining 38-39%, it's a safe bet (based on the limited evidence) that less than 10% of those remaining deaths are by legally purchased guns, so maybe 3% of the actual gun deaths are with legally purchased guns. That's why it's so stupid to want to disarm millions over such a small risk.

The real problem is poor, urban Blacks killing each other with stolen & illegally gotten guns. We'd be better served sending anyone caught with an illegal gun to prison for life, no parole.

Ummmm.....yea. I call BS on this. Talk about a skewed "study" with an agenda. More than ALL the wars? we're talking hundreds of millions of people. It doesn't take an overabundance of schooling to see the math here. Even with just using wars with US involvement, it doesn't add up.

That is the case now but homicides exceeded suicide in the past, also suicide should not be dismissed.

Why should suicide not be dismissed? Data proves that people will kill themselves at the same rate with or without a gun. Do you think the UK or Japan have significantly lower suicide rates since they don't have easy access to guns? Instead they gulp acemetephin or bleach.

Since 1980 more Americans have been killed in car accidents in this country than died in all U.S. wars.
According to the CDC more people have died from smoking in the last three years than all US wars. CDC - Fact Sheet - Tobacco-Related Mortality - Smoking & Tobacco Use

It is easy to come up with lots of statistics.

No they're not but you can add up the different types of gun deaths and get a pretty accurate total that can be contrasted against Americans killed in combat. Case in point...

You beat me to it.

And, anti gunnutz *******s..Don't sat "if they didn't have a gun they wouldn't have killed themselves" there's always meds, ropes, carbon monoxide. etc

And of the other 40%, if they didn't have a gun there is always a knife, rock, pipe, bat, knuckles, etc
