I'm 54 years old and could probably run faster still than half the kids under 20. Video games, TV's in bedrooms, smart phones/tablets...kids just aren't active enough. And their parents just don't care.
I don't think what the OP said was out of line.......best the child starts thinking about getting in shape. If he doesn't join the military and his future is a family, his children would rather have an active, in shape dad than a potato couch dad.
I don't think any of those boys and men who charged Normandy had any weight problems, at least none that I knew.
