Wow we went from pride day in Toronto to pride week and now we suddenly have pride month....what is next? Pride Year? What a about me? Why can I not have a pride day? Roll out the red carpet for crazy.
Do you really want a month? I've been asked this sort of question, and frankly, I don't need a 'White history month' or 'Christian history month' or any of that stuff that applies to my culture. And while I have no problem with these months existing (currently, June is also the month of Dysphagia, Caribbean American history, National Safety, PTSD Awareness, Hemiplegic Migraine Awareness, and National Migraine & Headache Awareness) nor people who want to have months, though I frankly can't wrap my mind around wanting one. It's nothing masquerading as progress. And I agree, black history should be celebrated. Gay people deserve a place in society. The goal that these commemorative months have are goals I am sympathetic with, even fully support, but I see no evidence to believe these months actually accomplish their goals.
Look at that list I gave of the month of June. Most people probably didn't know we had a national PTSD month. And even with that month, the VA still can't adequately take care of our veterans who do have PTSD. So why bother with the month if the conditions of those with PTSD haven't really improveD?
It is straight people doing this- not gays or lesbians or trans...straight elite jerks just want to look good and stay in power....they want the block vote...
Yeah, those same straight people that sometimes give birth to gay children.

Not "suddenly". Clinton declared the first "Gay and Lesbian" month in 2000. Bush declined to declare one and Obama resumed by declaring June "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month" starting in 2009.

FYI, it is White hetrosexual pride day EVERY day of the year! So, you guys need to calm down and appreciate what you have and stop proving why there needs to be a month for minority groups. I know it is hard to understand when it is so ingrained in our culture.
I hereby designate July as " Obama is an idiot month".
Actually July is National Ice Cream Month.
