Do you lock your house or your car? I hope you don't waste your time doing such nonsense since any determined thief can still get in.

BTW, pretty much every cop and study will tell you that locking your car and house will still deter crime.

Jewelry stores lock up and have alarms, but they are still targeted. What do you think would happen if they didn't lock up and use alarms?

We've posted links showing that border walls reduce illegal entry at those locations. Ignoring facts don't change those facts.

That's because there are other cars, house, jewelry stores to choose from. The potential targets available to a thieve is vast. If a store is locked they move on to an easier target.

Did you check the map to see how many countries border Mexico? Imagine if there is only one jewelry store in the entire city, you think a lock is going to keep out the bad guys then?

Yes, "at those location". No one is disputing that.

But it basically funnels the illegal crossing to other locations. You seem to only want to focus on the micro but not the macro.

It is easier to locate and apprehend illegals when they are funneled to other areas, especially remote areas where they are easier to spot, further from population centers and with less transportation.

Quit trying to ignore common sense for political posturing.

When is Mexico going to say they will pay for the wall? I would suspect we want a fancy gate to go along?

From my understanding, the idea is taxing remittances going back to Mexico.

If the amount of $25 billion per year is accurate, a 15% tax on those would get us $3.75 billion a year. That will build a good amount of wall.

Easier to spot?

How easy is it to spot tunnels?

If you have any common sense, it would tell you what an idiotic idea to think a wall will keep them out.

Another stupid idea.

It's as if Trump doesn't know that people can withdraw money from Mexico ATMs linked to US bank account.

A dumb idea that only dumb people get behind.

Exactly. That way the Border Patrol can focus their efforts on the harder places for illegals to cross.

Those who have a vested interest in allowing illegal aliens to continue to violate our border will always remain in denial, ignore facts and make excuses why we can't secure our border and at least deter many illegals from getting in here. It doesn't fit with their agendas.

Walls are far more effective at keeping people in than keeping them out. I wonder if the Donald is actually worried about the brain drain to Mexico after he is elected. The exodus to Canada would be even larger.
