"newly hired teachers with more than two years of teaching experience will have the ability to earn a base salary of $58,000, with the capacity in the coming years to earn up to $90,000"

I would love to see where this stat came from. I don't know any two teachers making 58k a year and I certainly don't know of any making 90k and still teaching in a class room.

Right....rep is due. People in the Military do not really make slit either. Police don't make slit....soldiers don't make slit....what happens to all the "patriots" when taxes are needed to be raised to pay the people that protect and serve this nation a good wage? Nope.....it all goes to football stadiums down there. Dam shame!!!

The police contain the oppressed from the oppressor. It does not matter the color. Police are hated in Jamaica also and the police there are black.

The starting salary for a Dallas officer right out of training and in a police car is about $42,900, according to the city. Out of the 10 most populous cities in the Dallas area, that's the lowest. Most of the other cities pay between $50,000 and $55,000 out of the gate. Plano pays more than $60,000.Oct 24, 2014

Heard of detail jobs?
Cops do not only collect wages from government.

I was interested to read that, in the aftermath of the Dallas police murders, the number of people applying to become Dallas police officers has surged, with 467 new job applications:

I find it odd that the OP neglected to update this thread concerning this new information. Likely too busy.

Pay without knowing the cost of living in a particular area is meaningless data.

The revolving door within the DPD long predates the recent rash of cop killings.

According to this, 124 officers have left DPD thus far this year due to compensation.
Rookie can make $8500/ yr more in Fort Worth with a lower cost of living.
A senior officer can make $10,000/ yr more and have a better pension.

During the aftermath of the Police Shootings, thd current Chief of Police encouraged people to get out of the protest line and apply to DPD and be a part of the solution.

There are thousands of micro economies throughout the US.

Compensation is meaningless without knowing the cost of living in a particular area.

Which tells me they left over pay and not conditions so knowing more than they simply left is important.
