Who can blame them? Low pay relative to the cost of living in the area only to have everyone hate you and no backing from the leaders of the country and you arent even allowed to do your job
A Cop friend of mine said usually when they pull over a Black person they get a camera and a bad attitude stuck in their face. Usually followed up with a harassment complaint.
It's a no win and they are moving to jobs in the Burbs.
I know some hard working good Police also. People just hear what they want too hear and nothing more. They do not hear what police do every single day they are out there to serve and protect.
They put up with more then most people can imagine. And still do it, because they love their job. I agree with what your saying, that happens all over.
It is a no win any more, but People today have no use for authority or respect for our Police. There are good and bad, and just too sad that we cannot all come together to figure out a solution to this mess created.
Oh believe me I have also heard about the attitude they get and quite often.

not worth it
The article was from the Dallas Police Union, no supporting facts as to why they left, nothing. Maybe you have some reasoning behind this but a departure of 48 out of a force of 3,600 is not significant.

Obviously many on here didn't bother to read the article. The 48 is the cumulative total for departing in June - pre-BLM shooting of police officers.
The reasons were similar to why many big cities lose thousands of police to smaller departments. Big cities train the police officers then smaller cities with better salaries, less risky conditions, draw officers away. You think liberal hot beds like LA, Chicago, and San Francisco have low turnover?
Suburbs of large cities have been attracting larger, metro police for decades. This isn't new. Trying to say one event causes mad exodus simply isn't true.
