IMHO if things went down being talked about in this thread; Calif would probably break apart 1st and; MOST of that state would join up with Arizona and Nv. Northern Calif well above the SF Bay Area would probably join Oregon and Wash for different reasons.
Great point. Much like west/east Oregon and Washington, most of the California interior is as conservative as any other place you'd find in the US.
More cops shot. More nationwide unrest. Are we at or approaching a key turning point in our history? If police all around the country decide to aggressively and proactively protect themselves, will the coming, inevitable confrontations with various lawless groups masquerading as defenders of civil rights explode into much more tragic situations? Do you think that, for lack of a better term, a 'race war' is on the horizon?

I think you are jumping the gun on this one, LEO's getting killed in the line of duty is nothing new, and the current number of officers killed is at 66. That is still well below the average per year, and no where near the highest it has ever been....since there wasn't any martial law situations to come from those times, I doubt it will come from this year either.
