Bad Karma on you for treating the outcry of Black people like some damn comedy show.

Look towards the history ("his story") of racism in this country for your answer.

Or whites can stop acting as if they're above the law. Black people can obey the law and still end up with bogus charges.

It's just that this narrow demographic is a much higher proportion of blacks than it is of whites.
That's why individuals need to have less of a dependency on goverment assistance.

Now, my response. The POTUS is black. The attorney general is black. Many high level White House staffers are black. Many senators and congressmen/congresswomen are black. A GOP candidate, already a very sucessful surgeon, is black.

I am sure they did not spend their time living as a perpetual victim. They worked hard to overcome any hardships and succeeded.

I am also sure that solution is not attractive to many who want everything handed to them.

All of the black people that I know are college educated. Most are also professionals. We all work very hard for everything that we have.

So again, what are your ideas or solutions?

I think part of the problem is how blacks are portrayed on TV, in movies, and in popular music. Kids grow up watching cop shows, where the cops on TV are forever fighting a battle against the gangster ghetto blacks, who are portrayed as evil killing gangbanging machines. These kids grow up to be cops. They listen to rap music sung by black people that talks about violence and killing cops.

Then in the line of duty, the cop sees a black person, and is instantly terrified and angry at the same time, as a holdover from what they saw on TV, and heard in the music.

If you want to fix this problem, fix the media, fix Hollywood, fix the music industry. Fix the things that are bombarding us daily with negative black stereotypes, and we might stop unconsciously stereotyping. If all blacks on TV were doctors and engineers, and all blacks in the music industry sang about love and dancing, then we as a country would have a much different set of unconcious stereotypes.

Yep, better training isn't needed.

Blacks use drugs at similar rates to Whites yet they're more likely to be incarcerated for it relative to their population.
It's crime mapping and can't judge department by one bad apple

I agree with this, except you need to specify the location of the demographics discussed (in my area, the few Blacks are very well educated) and then define which ethnic group has the most young/male/unmarried/not employed/not in school.

In many parts of the country, young white males would be the identified group. In some areas such as mine, the identified group are American Indian.

Not to digress, but I've often thought that when I'm queen of the universe I will send all males between the ages of 13 and 33 to Mars. How peacefully will the rest of us live then! (Note to all: I don't really believe that I will be queen of the universe. Or, will I???)

think of how many times someone was injured or lost their life because a cop was hassling an innocent person he or she pulled over? the time wasted doing that stuff with law abiding citizens just makes them a few seconds or a few minutes away from getting to a REAL crime that's happening.

Agreed.

But this false perception is perpetuated by TV and rap music. For many whites, they have more contact with black people being gangbangers on TV and in rap music than they have contact with normal black people in real life just going to work and coming home. It's no wonder the perceptions are off.

What if black people collectively refused to play a criminal of any sort on TV or in the movies from this point forward. Went on strike against any black created music that had violent lyrics. Do you think things might change? It might take several years, to let it all sink in, but I think it would work.

And it's a lot better than what's happening now.
