That's correct. But foreigners who come to America often can't understand that. Democracy isn't always "right" in who ends up winning elections. Sometimes the "bad guys" win in democratic elections. But that's democracy.

I have no ideas why people even start this kind of thread to address RADICAL islam terrorism issue.

You know this is going to turn into a christian bashing thread.

If everybody cared, nobody cried,

If everybody loved, nobody lied,

if everybody shared, and swallowed their pride

we'd see the day nobody died

I am inclined to believe nobody cared, it is a popularity contest, no more no less.

For people in denial how Muslims treat Gays while yelling Allah Akbar a must seen!

How can the world stand by and not act!
Act? In what way? I agree that minorities should be understood, supported, and protected, but there is something fishy about blasting one group (Muslims) and painting them all with a vast brush of ignorance, misunderstanding, and stereotypes while claiming to want to protect another minority (gays, in this case.)

ALL religions can produce religious extremism, and that is the problem here, not specifically one religion since they all have nuts in them who misuse their religion to justify violence. The only reason the outcome isn't the same here is that the right-wing nuts can't have their way all the time, no questions asked, in the western world, thankfully. At least not yet - some folks are more than eager to regress civilization to those times, of course.

Overwhelming Majority of Those Muslim countries know nothing about democracy. Hence the problem.

the separation of church and state is hardly the first unwritten concept that is protected by the constitution. In the 1973 case of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court established a women’s constitutional right to have an abortion despite the word abortion never appearing in the constitution. In the 2015 case of Obergefell v. Hodges the Supreme Court established that laws against same sex marriage were unconstitutional despite the word marriage never appearing in the constitution. In the 1963 case of Gideon v. Wainwright the Supreme Court established that the constitution guarantees the right to an attorney despite the words public defender never appearing in the constitution. In the 2010 case of McDonald v. Chicago the Supreme Court established that the second amendment right to bear arms included the right to bear arms for self-defense despite the words self-defense never appearing in the constitution.

Jordan was under the Ottoman Empire, where homosexuality was decriminalized 75 years earlier, but between 1922 and 1945 the country was a subject mandated by the League of Nations. However, in 1951 the new nation made homosexuality legal.

Indonesia is another example.

The above two countries, like the entire world, have varies challenges for LGBT people. However, because the law is on their side, living in these countries create an atmosphere where one can imagine a fight, a possibility of freedom, and the dream that one day being gay is not any different from being straight.

It is not Donkeys vs Elephant issues, It is the Separation of church and state issue. Sadly, There are ONLY 5 Muslim Nations Where Gay is Legal

No government should have laws to tell people what to do in their bedrooms.
one of your better posts, Lily.

Sadly, many countries do not separate church from state and they are not all Muslim majority countries. The US is still evolving and no shortage of Americans who percieve the evolution of separation as evidence the US has gone to hell in a handbasket.

All other religions have evolved, Islam hasn't.

According to Gallup, most LGBT lean left.

Of those patrons in that club who were US citizens and inclined to vote, it's likely they were registered Demorats like the mass shooter, or Independents who leaned left when it's time to vote.

Not likely LGBT would overwhelmingly favor a party that at times seems obsessed with other people's sex lives and sought to withhold their civil rights.

BTW, One of the Top Ten riots in US history was Stonewall in 1969.

Hey.. great idea... you want to make things better for minorities and those "oppressed"? Lets keep voting Dem as its been working out REALLY well these last 8 years..

Don't know if you have noticed but things are WORSE now......lol

Amazing the mind of Dems..
Well let's see.

The economy has pretty much recovered from the economic disaster caused by the last conservative Republican president.

Inflation is at a low .84% over last year.

We haven't had a huge terrorist attack such as occurred under the last conservative Republican president.

That's pretty good for starters. Thanks for reminding us.

Here is one of the problems with post number one.

It's in part constructed under the assumption--as an analogy--that black people can get the KKK members to like them by pointing out flaws among Mexicans and attempting to demonize Mexicans. In the hope blacks and the KKK can unite via emotional bonds of having a "common enemy."

People in Europe and the United States hate Christians. Period. Their is no bribing them nor reasoning with them. The best friends of the Christians are the Muslims. At least the ones that will stand beside Christians. There are plenty of them in the Russian Federation. You don't see Putin or the Orthodox Russians bashing the loyal Muslims over there. And those Muslims will die and send their children to die saving the lives of Russian Christians.

By attacking all good Muslims you are simply driving them in the fortresses of your anti-Christian enemies.

America does not do all things right. And in terms of the whole Muslim issue both the left and right are vastly inferior to the Russians. Russia is no where near as internally divided as Americans are.

No, Christians have no norms of stoning women. We find that particularly offensive due to one of our famous stories about Jesus and the woman he stepped in front of that was going to be stoned. But Christians traditionally have no objection to lawful governments imposing the death penalty (not by means of stoning). The death penalty for homosexuality is one of those things countries in Africa and the Middle East have to change from within. There can be outside pressure placed on them to force a change in laws.

Right now the President of the Phillipines in LAPD secular fashion, has encouraged the extra-judicial killings of drug addicts listing them as not humans. The LAPD during the era of the Grim Sleeper serial killer, discovering the bodies of murdered drug addicts and prostitutes would type in their official reports for the corpses discovered, "No human found."

And the son of the Grim Sleeper has stated that members of the LAPD would stop him, shake his hand, and tell him how great his father was for cleaning up the streets of LA. This is because the Grim Sleeper targeted female crack cocaine addicts. He hated them. Tortured some anally. In secular morality the LAPD was fine with this.

Are the Muslims putting homosexuals to death worse than the LAPD or cops in the Philippines? Maybe not so much.

But with humans if we had no one to hate we would have to find someone or some group to hate. Can't be happy otherwise.

Both countries have issues with mob attacks and vigilante actions against homosexuality. From a cultural aspect, women thought to be lesbian are treated to " corrective rape".

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

The Prime Minister of Zimbabwe , a Christian majority country, threathtened to behead homosexuals. Government turns a blind eye towards vigilante actions against gays.

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

Over the Christian Uganda, there was a serious attempt to pass a " kill the gay" bill which was supported by many Christian clergy in the US. Pastor Kevin Swanson ( 270 US churches and 50 foreign ministries) was among the most outspoken and supportive. 3 candidates seeking the Republican nomination chose to speak at conferences organized by Swanson. He maintains dozens of missions in Uganda. Swanson was one of many Christian ministers who rationalalized the Orlando shooters.

While the Ugandan bill fell short of passage, mobs frequently stone homosexuals to death and engage in corrective rape.

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

Similar crap going on in parts of Buddhist Myanmar and Hindu India.

" How can the world stand by and not act"?

SCOTUS ruled against Sodomy Laws in the US in 2003. Yet such laws remain on the books in 13 states. Some of those states continued to arrest and attempt prosecution, despite the SCOTUS ruling.

Why do some media limit their focus to incidents in Muslim majority countries and ignore similar vigilantism actions in other non Muslim countries?
I had a hunch that you would try to change the subject before any one.
I was correct.
