I didn't want to watch the video because I have seen video of gay people being tossed off roofs already. It is heinous and evil.

There are many problems in the Middle East and there are plenty of countries there that have terrible human rights records. We have all seen how women are treated and how anyone who opposes the strict religious views are brutalized and executed.

Since this is in the political forum I have to add a question, WHY is Obama so bent on making us love these terrible people. Yes it is not all of them but there are many who are willing to kill any "infidel" (us) in the name of their "peaceful" religion.
Another issue is Hypocrite Hillary and how she can make a fierce stand for women's rights here yet she cozies up to the ME leaders and allows them to make contributions to her foundation. SO which is it Hillary are you really for women's rights or are you for the money.

I don't think we should try to be friends with, help with aid, bring tens of thousands of "refugees" into our own country or promote them in any way until they (most of the ME) can get themselves into the 21 Century and treat all people equally.

The Left has a simple solution for this: ban tall buildings.

I assume that liberals support these terrorists because they are stupid and would vote for their own destruction, if given the opportunity. They hate themselves and this nation, and all the freedoms and liberties that we enjoy. By flooding this nation with closed minded terrorists, they would be one step closer to achieving their ultimate goal of "radically and fundamentally changing America".... And not for the better.

We would all be better off just ignoring liberals, and all the garbage they spew. If a confused liberal tries to sway your opinion, just tell the bum to get a job, and walk away. Most importantly though, vote wisely, and with conviction. That is our best defense of all from these losers. There are not more of them than us. They are just louder, and much more annoying.

There are about 75 countries in the world that have laws on the books making homosexuality a crime. Laws cross all major religions.

Libya , majority Muslim, and Jamaica, majority Christian, are historically heavily male dominated social structures with laws that make homosexuality a crime punishable by prison. Both claim laws are based on religious beliefs.

Both countries have issues with mob attacks and vigilante actions against homosexuality. From a cultural aspect, women thought to be lesbian are treated to " corrective rape".

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

The Prime Minister of Zimbabwe , a Christian majority country, threathtened to behead homosexuals. Government turns a blind eye towards vigilante actions against gays.

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

Over the Christian Uganda, there was a serious attempt to pass a " kill the gay" bill which was supported by many Christian clergy in the US. Pastor Kevin Swanson ( 270 US churches and 50 foreign ministries) was among the most outspoken and supportive. 3 candidates seeking the Republican nomination chose to speak at conferences organized by Swanson. He maintains dozens of missions in Uganda. Swanson was one of many Christian ministers who rationalalized the Orlando shooters.

While the Ugandan bill fell short of passage, mobs frequently stone homosexuals to death and engage in corrective rape.

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

Similar crap going on in parts of Buddhist Myanmar and Hindu India.

" How can the world stand by and not act"?

SCOTUS ruled against Sodomy Laws in the US in 2003. Yet such laws remain on the books in 13 states. Some of those states continued to arrest and attempt prosecution, despite the SCOTUS ruling.

Why do some media limit their focus to incidents in Muslim majority countries and ignore similar vigilantism actions in other non Muslim countries?

The death penalty is implemented in 6 UN States (Page 28):

Iran, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen, and Iraq.

It is not surprising that all are Muslim countries and if someone from any of these countries were to move to USA today, they would vote for the Democrat Party.

Allow me

I don’t think the differences between religions make one more valid than another. But as the Charlie Hedbo attack reminds us, there is a big practical difference between them. In fact, the best argument against the equivalence of Christianity and Islam is that no one acts even remotely as if this were true. We feel free to criticize and offend Christians without a second thought—thanks, guys, for being so cool about that—but antagonizing Muslims takes courage. More courage than a lot of secular types in the West can usually muster.

we can ALWAYS count on YOU to educate us "Christians are the same or worse."

Excellent post. But it will be scrolled past by the OP and all the anti-Muslim factions because they refuse to admit that their own religion is also responsible for many of the ongoing atrocities aimed at the gay community today.

The "kill the gay" movement in Uganda, which was fostered and fed by American fundamentalist Christians, is an atrocity most right wingers pretend never happened, and I'd be willing to bet not a single right wing responder in this thread will even address it. They can't handle that level of truth.

Same could be said about African-Americans who vote 95% Democrat, if they really cared about Gay Rights, as all Democrats like to claim that they do, they would speak up about the dismal conditions of LGBT community in Africa.
