Hey, start a new thread, I will address it.

The thread happened to be Radical islam and gay. Not Radical Christians and gays.

Killing gays is an atrocity no matter where it is practiced or by whom, including certain African "Christian" nations. They are certainly not strangers to crimes against humanity in general.

But the difference is that, no matter how many fringe groups promote the idea, it is not part of mainstream Christianity in the U.S. to kill gays. And, we are free to condemn the practice publicly, as I think most Americans would. Not so in other places, where hatred and fear of homosexuals is a culturally approved practice and people would fear to speak out against it.

So no, we are not the same by a long shot.

Some here are Simply Running Out of Ways to Defend radicalized Islam (I say RADICAL )

So they go back to this

"Christians are the same or worse, so focusing on Islam is picking on them"

They do, you just dont listen.

Also, how you vote is not the same as who represents you . If you are black and live in the south ( which is about half the black population in this country, then you are governed by Republicans and that is where your electoral vote goes as well.

Let's not forget a dozen red states had anti-sodomy laws before it was finally struck down by the Supreme Court in 2003.

Substantially male dominated cultures all over the world have trended anti homosexual since forever. They tend not to hold women to the same standards and practice " corrective rape". Poor animals probably don't know what they are missing, eh.

Many seem easily able to distinguish between mainstream and non mainstream Christianity but choose not to do so as it relates to Islam.

I seem to recall a story about a Jewish preacher who, in the ME, reportedly once said words that have since been translated to

" He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone".

Both countries have issues with mob attacks and vigilante actions against homosexuality. From a cultural aspect, women thought to be lesbian are treated to " corrective rape".

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

The Prime Minister of Zimbabwe , a Christian majority country, threathtened to behead homosexuals. Government turns a blind eye towards vigilante actions against gays.

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

Over the Christian Uganda, there was a serious attempt to pass a " kill the gay" bill which was supported by many Christian clergy in the US. Pastor Kevin Swanson ( 270 US churches and 50 foreign ministries) was among the most outspoken and supportive. 3 candidates seeking the Republican nomination chose to speak at conferences organized by Swanson. He maintains dozens of missions in Uganda. Swanson was one of many Christian ministers who rationalalized the Orlando shooters.

While the Ugandan bill fell short of passage, mobs frequently stone homosexuals to death and engage in corrective rape.

"How can the world stand by and not act"?

Similar crap going on in parts of Buddhist Myanmar and Hindu India.

" How can the world stand by and not act"?

SCOTUS ruled against Sodomy Laws in the US in 2003. Yet such laws remain on the books in 13 states. Some of those states continued to arrest and attempt prosecution, despite the SCOTUS ruling.

Why do some media limit their focus to incidents in Muslim majority countries and ignore similar vigilantism actions in other non Muslim countries?
leave it to mom to equate unenforced sodomy laws with beheadings and high-building executions

But that doesn't stop a person from forming an organization. It didn't stop Blacks in the south from joining the racist violent BLM, why not form a group that does something positive and advocates for Gay rights in Africa.

Anti- homosexuality is most common in heavily male- dominated social structures, regardless of geo boundaries or religions. They tend to rationalize their behaviors with religion, oftentimes rooted in British colonial laws

Some media prefers to ignore this and instead focus only on Muslims. That's not the same as defending Muslim extremists.

The sex lives of consenting adults is none of my business. The term " adult" varies throughout the world and has evolved over time.

Simply untrue.

Orthodox Islam, like orthodox interpretations of the other Abrahamic faiths, views homosexuality as sinful and usually defines marriage as only ever a heterosexual union.

This isn’t to say that there is no debate on the subject. In April, the Washington Post profiled Daayiee Abdullah, who is believed to be the only publicly gay imam in the west. “[i]f you have any same-sex marriages,” the Post quotes him as saying, “I’m available.” Meanwhile, the gay Muslim scholar Scott Siraj al-Haqq Kugle, who teaches Islamic studies at Emory University in the United States, says that notions such as “gay” or “lesbian” are not mentioned in the Quran. He blames Islam’s hostility towards homosexuality on a misreading of the texts by ultra-conservative mullahs.

I have no doubts in my mind that overwhelming majority of muslims living in the west want to live in a society in which all minorities – Jews, Muslims, gay people and others – are protected from violence and abuse, from demonisation and discrimination.

However, this doesn't mean radicalized Islam as a whole is above criticism.

A best-information-available list of countries/regions where executions for homosexual activity are carried out or are provided by current or future law:

Nations with such laws on the books; executions have been carried out

1. Iran
2. Saudi Arabia

Nations with such laws on the books; no recent executions reported

3. Sudan
4. Yemen

Nations with such laws on the books in part of the country; no verified executions for homosexual activity

5. Nigeria
6. Somalia

Nations with such laws on the books; no executions reported

7. Afghanistan
8. Mauritania
9. Pakistan
10. Qatar

How many of these countries are Christian majority?
