As I suspected, this will be likely be the end of the MSM, as we know it, as this false and seditious report will demand major media reform; as the cherry on a liberal fake news sundae that has been constructed since the pre-election season.
Get ready. And enjoy what you're press has wrought, libs.
As I thought its potential that was likely, given the press's recent track record, the information in the report, while requiring investigation at this point, is unlikely to be given verified status nor any credibility.
It was written by a retired intelligence officer while being paid to do opposition research. That's to start.
This supposed intelligence wasn't acquired via normal non-partisan investigation. It was acquired by paying cash to a third party former intelligence officer who needed to come up with something in return. Right there, given the profit motivation that is attached to a political opponent, the credibility of the information is highly suspect.
Second, there are claims that can be verified directly, the falsification of which will wholly impugn the credibility of the information in the entire report.
For instance, the report claims that Michael Cohen, Trump's counsel, secretly met in Prague with Kremlin agents.
Directly, Mr. Cohen refutes that claim with a photo of his passport, an inspection of which will either verify or discredit such a possibility.
If it discredits such a possibility, then the report is finished, and so is the liberal propaganda machine for the foreseeable future in my estimation, for the sake of the national well-being and the future integrity of the office of the president as a national institution. My intuition says that Mr. Cohen will not be able to be placed in Prague and that this report will be one of the final nails in the MSM coffin. This open sedition, based on fake information, cannot be allowed to continue.
We shall see.
The media reported what the US Intelligence gave to Trump and President Obama. Blame the media if it helps. And no, getting one part wrong does not negate the entire report unless one is desperate to ignore it, even if there is potential that Trump is compromised out of fear of what Putin has on him.
CNN reporting that US intelligence officials briefed POTUS and POTUS-Elect that Russians have compromised Trump with both personal and financial information. The source is allegedly a well vetted MI6 agent, they are currently trying to verify the information in the claims are true though.
If the linked story is correct that 4chan users created material that made it into a 35 page report that was so supersecret that Trump was only allowed to see a 2-page summary of it on Friday, the U.S. intelligence agencies have lost all credibility permanently.

This came from U.S. Intelligence. Now, the question might be how did that Intelligence get out to the media, but the media did not create the report.
". . . if the 4Chan account is accurate, what makes it quite tragic, is that it is no longer possible to dismiss the "fake news" angle to an intelligence report. And if the CIA is compromised, what is left for "news outlets" like CNN and BuzzFeed, which were all too eager to run with the story without any attempt at verification?"

You mean John McCain met with 4chan users in London to get in on the hoax?
Quote:
Senator John McCain passed documents to the FBI director, James Comey, last month alleging secret contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow and that Russian intelligence had personally compromising material on the president-elect himself.

Honestly, McCain has behaved pretty responsibly through this whole thing. He seems genuinely alarmed by the way Trump is behaving with regard to Russia and maybe he feels this report explains it.
