This landslide talk is just downright funny. I guess many like to ignore the facts. The popular vote speaks for itself. Even DJT's electoral college margin was not much compared to past elections.

Not much, but enough. Close only counts in horseshoes.

But totally irrelevant.
Does anyone really expect that the winner of a close election should decide " well, I wont try to pass many of the things I campaigned on and promised my supporters I would do, because the election was close.".
Its a ridiculous concept. The winner is the winner, regardless of the margin.
The NE Pats won 3 Super Bowls by field goals and 1 by 4 points . They arent lesser champions because the games were close.

Practically untrue. A tight win indicates the country as a whole does not support your policies in any great way. A popular vote loss indicates even less support. That says legislators who wish to be reelected need to consider how much support to give the holder of the office.
I would think Trump will have a difficult time with virtually any policy issue. And any that requires legislation is likely doomed. The ability of the Senate Democrats to block without fear is given much support by the popular vote loss. Trump will have problems with both the Republicans and the Democrats. Over the next years we will see how good a deal maker he really is...
I'm implying that the founding fathers weren't some mystical geniuses that we should default to agreeing with because they were the founding fathers. My implications are that they are not the authority that people should look up to.
It is the constitution not the founding fathers themselves that counts. I think they did a pretty good job creating a country of which had never been before. We have the longest continuous charter of government and that speaks for itself.
The left had 16 years after Bush/Gore to do put forward something to change it but I don't recall any serious discussions about trying to change it after the election drama died down. I expect the same thing this time. The DNC and RNC are fine with it.
Keep the electoral college but more states should be proportions.
