I tend to adhere to classical economics for the most part with some progressive era refinements. However the basic thought at the time, thanks to Ricardo, was wrong. Ricardo although brilliant on trade and renterism was lets face it a bank apologist. Finance does not merely shadow or facilitate a barter economy. That was all but understood when Keynes finally said the emperor had no clothes. It is also a good idea to separate the descriptive elements of a theory. Marx provides lots of economic insights and has many accurate descriptive elements of capitalism. However as with all idealists , one would not want to follow his cure that is worse than the affliction. Keynesian government prescriptions should be held with the same skepticism Adam Smith warned about for any policy . If anything Keynesian financial models are a good way to stop da guberment from disturbing the market system int he first place.

I am not 100% sure where I stand with trade, but do support America. Do believe in excess txew on imported goods into the US and tax breaks on exported goods outside of the US. Outside of that feel very little Government involvement in regards to the market.

You go ahead and live in your Manichaean world.

You have no authority to define me or anyone else.

I'm a veteran. Don't waive the flag at me.

I appreciate your service, but if you find patriotism offensive, then you might have been serving for the wrong reasons. I have a right to free speech which is guaranteed by the Constitution, you know, the thing you swore to defend. Those that don't want America to keep its sovereignty are indeed traitors, whether they served or not.
