Actually, Democrats GAINED seats in the US House and Senate in 2016 😒 Facts can be inconvenient to a narrative sometimes, right?

What makes you think we're gonna make it to 2018?

I think the GOP is going to pick up a seat or two when the dust settles. I don't have much faith in the Democratic Party to offer a real, viable alternative that doesn't count on identity politics or capitulating to the GOP. Still the same old faces controlling the DNC. I don't expect them to gain any seats in the Senate especially since the Dems are playing defense in 2018. And I'm pretty liberal, too

Do you realize that when I said Democrats lost over 1000 seats during the Obama administration I wasn't just talking about the house and the senate right?

While the media was freaking out about Trump’s win they helped mute Democratic gain, Democrats still managed to net one legislative chamber this year. They thought they were going to gain many more. The Democratic party failed to retake the US Senate, following losses in Florida, Pennsylvania and Indiana, as Republicans delivered Donald Trump a Congress firmly in conservative control.

I can't believe so many posts would predict a GOP sweep, if Trump is still around it's going to be a slaughter on the GOP. Congressional elections are based on popular vote, not an electoral college, on top of that, there are far more minorities and women than there are white conservatives. Unless there's a big change in the national mood, and the Republican congress starts delivering, they will lose there super majority advantage.

They had the opportunity to elect a more moderate candidate but they stuck with Nancy Pelosi. Since they had to replace Debbie Wasserman Schultz because she was caught screwing Bernie Sanders the politicians running for the DNC chair are far left too.
