I'm curious as to what party this forum thinks has gained ground for 2018 elections since Donald Trump won the election on November 8th. Please feel free to add commentary in which direction you think the pendulum has swung since Trump won the election and took office.

23 Democrats up for reelection
9 Republicans up for reelection
2 independents up for reelection

Can't vote. I do not know. I do not believe anybody else really knows, either.
It would be quite easy to say "based on recent history, the republicans will do well".
But, it would be just as easy to say "trump is destroying the republican party, and the democrats will do well".

GOP will clean up in 2018, democrats do not turn out for non-presidential years.

Trump and his policies are causing a backlash that will continue to build. The President's party usually loses seats during his term. Democrats will pick up a seat or two.

Totally agree. If Dems can't do any better than name call, spew hatred of white people and whine, they are going to get killed once again. They always seem to double down on stupidity.

As usual, it depends on the voter turnout.

The Democratic party has been taken over by leftist extremist and instead of working to make American life better they choose instead to go further left and constantly attack anyone who doesn't march to their tune. This isn't sitting too well with the American people, maybe the extremist are happy or people who break laws but not good hard working American people.

I don't understand how anyone who isn't an illegal alien, a felon, or dependent on the government could vote for a member of today's Democrat Party.

It should be another Democrat bloodbath, especially if they continue acting like they have been.
