Crazy how Trump can sound normal when he isn't addressing his base.... doesn't blame the media for calling out his lies or making new lies....
I have heard from so many people that there are two sides to him. They say in private meetings, he is kind and gracious. However in public, he is.....well, different. I so wish what we saw last night would be what we see going forward.....however I would not be surprised if he already tweeted last night into the toilet.
Why should any rational person like the idea of throwing even more $$$ at what is already by far the most expensive military in the world without even questioning whether cuts could be made in that part of the budget along with all the others where cuts are proposed?
From a very general 'motherhood and apple pie' speech, you got that we are just going to throw monies in all directions without examining the value in doing that or in moving stuff around even within the individual area of interest? Even on equipment that was already contracted for, the 'art of the deal' can be used to reduce costs and get us more value - and Trump is the guy who can do that for us. He has his eye on the budget - you better believe that .. that is his thing given his background.
But, beyond that, as one example, right now we spend more on Medicaid alone than on the military. Since 'some people' will no doubt be leaving the country and will not need Medicaid services any more, some of that money can be shifted to the military. Shifting priorities mean that some pockets are fuller than they need to be so monies can be moved to cover those where newer priorities may cost more.
What I am sure many people don't see, because they frankly don't want to, is that the hope is (and it is a realistic one) that a lot of monies can be shifted around from one need to another which may have diminished needs in the next while. And we might even be able to increase revenues too if all goes well.
If you have $10 'allowance' and you have traditionally allocated $5 a week for coffee, $3 for candy and $2 for bus fare however your doctor told you to cut out coffee and candy, and you have decided to walk instead, you will have $10 still you can reallocate if you stick to the new budget (and you may be able to either save for a new pair of jeans or perhaps you just buy that jump rope you wanted to help you exercise even better). Not only that but your father is so impressed with your new aims he kicks in another $3 this week and considers upping your allowance in future AND you just remembered where you hid that extra $5 your grandmother sent you for your birthday.
These are Grade 2 life skills math concepts. Do they not teach these in elementary school any more? Do they now only teach that if you run out of money you just ask your Dad for more and you always get it?
Barring any major unforeseen event happening, Trump is likely to be the most cost conscious and prudent spending President we have had in ages. He dreams big but he also makes things happen and for a price that is much less than one would expect the dream to cost. He understands better than most of us where value is to be found and where one can spend a bit less on bells and whistles to ensure that the right money goes to the basics that will last for a very long time. The granite countertop may have to go right now because they cost too much but the cabinets that support it will be of the best quality so we can put in the granite later and not have to also replace the cabinets to support it. He also knows how to scope out those who build the best cabinets too and get a real deal from them.
When you guys toss out one liners without thinking .. just so you can get a nasty dig in .. it is so obvious that your brain is not functioning as it should and you will lose against any cogent argument. You aren't doing yourselves any favours any more with that tactic.

And when you guys lap up one liners like 'Make America Great Again' or 'Increase Military Spending!' it shows how easily you're duped into believing there's substance where none exists.
