The thing is, the republican have prided themselves on being the 'do nothing party' for too long to even consider stopping now. They don't seem to be able to pivot to governing any more than trump can pivot from being in campaign mode to governing.

Im not saying there isnt one cheap plan somewhere that does, but none of the ones any family member has or has looked at does. So your dont know what you are talking about right there.

Second, competition can only go so far, especially in a rigged system. If you think some cardiologist is going to be doing heart surgeries for a 1000 bucks because of " competition" , you are delusional.

You know why neurosurgeons are so pricey and revered? Because there are only a limited number of people intelligent enough to be one? Hardly. Because the regulating boards only allow a limited number of fellowships for Drs to gain that certification. The game is rigged. But your plan is to allow those that rig the system for their profit to be allowed unfettered freedom to do whatever they want without ANY government regulation, or governmental alternatives to being gouged by private HC when nothing else exists. And you think health care companies are going to develop the next generation of medicines and equipment based on people paying a few bucks out of pocket for HC in an ins free system? Seriously?

You have zero evidence to support your claims. Zero. Those that support universal HC, on the other hand, have any number of countries that have successful "socialist" HC programs to point to .
Do me a favor, talk to your friend in the HC business and ask him/her about the 3 wholesale drug tiers and how completely outrageous the profit margin is for HC systems. You think just doctor costs are rigged?
You mention companies developing the next drug or equipment? If people only knew how much money is made by by HC systems alone on those products they'd riot...

Remember the Epipen controversy? Want to know what the wholesale cost to HC companies is for those? About $2.

BTW, did Trump do another "poor me" campaign rally to make himself feel better after this latest setback last night? Maybe he held it at Mar-a-Lago

Retail them at $300 but sell them to providers for far less and you get yourself one heck of a tax write off.

Amazingly Trump still wanted a vote on the floor in spite of the fact that it was obvious that it would fail, he wanted all those congressmen on record. Eventually Ryan talked him out of this because it would punish those that voted for the replacement, not the Freedom Caucus.

Oh, make no mistake about it, Trump was crushed by this YUGE loss. The "Great Negotiator" wasn't able to close this one, was he ? If he couldn't get his own side to do what he wanted, good luck with making the Mexicans pay for that stupid wall, Donnie ! Mommy, where is my blankee ?

One thing you have to give Trump credit for, he is one slick SOB. He shifted this whole thing to Ryan, who was dumb enough to take on the task of trying to craft it. I hope Ryan learned the lesson that Trump will never accept responsibility for any loss or wrong doing. It is always SOMEONE else's fault.

Welcome to the NFL, Donnie.........you are now in the big leagues !

No, he wasn't. He found out that there are members of congress in leadership positions willing to lie and obfuscate just to push their agenda and to hell with the public.

Better to die free than live as a slave.

No more taxes, in fact, I want less taxes because I am not an idiot, I know my dreams will never be realized by paying more taxes.

I want this country to return to its original intent, not become a complete socialist haven under the foot of big government who dictates my liberties as if I was a subject to the state.

There are many who also want that as well.

How do you plan on paying for bridges across major waterways?

People forget that it wasn't just Democrats, but Republicans as well, who opposed Trump and his policies -- especially on trade and immigration.

Trump does not have many friends in Congress from either party.

He made the mistake of going along with Paul Ryan, who never supported him.

Starting your administration with a health care bill didn't work for Clinton, didn't work for Obama (it was the only thing he ended up "accomplishing" -- and it was a failure), and hasn't worked for Trump.

If I were Trump, I would just leave health care alone.

He should just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of Obamacare failing. Let the Democrats own the disaster they created. Insurance companies bowing out. Premiums and deductibles so high that people can't use their "health care." Etc.

The Democrats will eventually want to work something out.

He should ignore them and let them pay for their sins at the ballot box.

And he shouldn't give the Republican leadership in the House and Senate his trust either.

They need to go -- and hopefully will in the next election, if not before.
