If they would fund the risk corridors it would be fine.

The Republicans choked it off deliberately to kill the Affordable Care Act.

Wrong. It was never sustainable. Insurance works when one must buy before an accident. Not after.

It works when cost to user and risk correlate. Not a cap % charged based on age. Market based works.

Good products do not require force to purchase it (mandates).

Clearly, you don't understand how a universal health care insurance should work.

Now I get that you probably don't want a UHC. But complaining that it requires a mandate is like complaining that cooking a meal requires a stove. Well, of course it does.

There are literally dozens of ways that a UHC can work, because there are literally dozens of them in place. Some work better than others.

.

None work well with a population as large as ours. If I look at this week from a conservative POV, I love the result. ACA will implode as 5 of 6 enrollees are on expanded Medicaid, and now , unlike years 1-5, states pay 10-20% of the bill, will not be able to, and will de-enlist from ACA. Had ACA worked, private insurers would have more than a token % of newly insured. When it formally finishes exploding, we can get a center-right Health Care plan, as the left will have noting left to defend.

Laugh if you wish but your dreamy ACA is dying. As of now, w/o any replacement.

Why would they not? It's an actuarial truism that the larger the insurance pool, the better it works.
