Are you referring to the Aetna that was forced to admit in court that they said that in order to get concessions from their government on their hoped for merger? That they basically lied about it? That one?
That caucus is safer now than ever as their constituents are very conservative.
The reality is the path of least resistance is to wait out the 18-24 months of life ACA has left. That will make passing a market-based plan an easy alternative to pass, with bi-partisan support.
Anyone not aware ACA is in , per AEETNA, its death cycle, is delusional.
There will be some problems in many of the markets in the next year or so as they are down to one insurer, these are primarily poor districts that voted for Trump, you think that he is just going to sit and watch. The GOP and Trump have done everything they could to make sure that the ACA failed, Executive Orders, Law Suits, pilling advertising and the constant rhetoric about death spirals.
There is a lawsuit pending appeal that the courts ruled on in May 2016, the republicans requested a delay on their own action until after the election so that Trump and the GOP would have time to replace. The lawsuit basically found that subsidies to low income unconstitutional because congress did not appropriate the funds, so now you have Trump in the awkward position of defending the ACA that the wanted to replace. If he decides to not defend the lawsuit it will certainly speed the demise, but keep in mind that most of the areas with issues are his core supporters the other areas in fact are doing fine. Many of these problem districts belong to the Freedom Caucus so that will also prove very interesting.

The House Republicans’ general counsel filed a motion Thursday to temporarily hold in abeyance all briefings in the appeal of a federal district court’s May ruling in House v. Burwell that the Obama administration illegally compensated insurers for reducing low-income enrollees’ cost-sharing responsibilities. A U.S. District Court judge nominated by President George W. Bush unexpectedly held that the payments were unconstitutional because Congress had not appropriated the money.
We need more true conservatives and I just hope Trump realizes the Rino's bill of Ryan is not what WE THE PEOPLE WANT. Give the money to the states. Keep the Federal government OUT OF HEALTHCARE!

How does that work? Giving money to the states but keeping the Federal government out of it?

Because the state's did such a fabulous job before the ACA?
Because Cancer, Heart Disease and Diabetes only happens in some states?
Insurers have been exiting the Individual Plan Markets, either by Geo Rated areas within states or by state for more than 25 years. The state's used to scramble to retain insurers. Some would subsidize insurers. Some made selling lucrative Large group plans and Supplimental Medicare Plans contingent upon staying in the Individual Plan Market.
Some states allowed insurers to sell serious junk plans and/ or allow insurers to exclude people by medical condition.
Some states had High risk pools that were designed to exclude most people. At peak, only 200,000 people in the US had any semblance of insurance through stste high risk pools, while tens of millions were SOL.
75% of us are overweight/ obese, the magilla of preexisting conditions, if there ever was one.
I think it is ironic that the Freedom caucus demands the complete repeal of Obamacare and are the ones who SAVED Obamacare... say one thing and do another!

About as ironic as those who claim to want UHC still defending Obamacare.
The GOP is on life support if they can't use all the power they have. The Tea Party was the beginning of the end for the GOP. The Freedom Caucus is being held hostage by the evangelical right wing and will say no to anything the party of Satan asks for ,therefore the GOP can't govern because you have to negotiate. As long as there is a group in Washington whose purse strings are pulled by doing what God wants them to do its over for the GOP.
What will compound the problem is Trump doesn't have the legislative stamina to be successful. He is the perfect Republican to follow an Obama administration. The political will, acumen, stamina and skill it will take to unravel some of Obama's accomplishment is not possessed by Donald Trump.
How does that work? Giving money to the states but keeping the Federal government out of it?
I'd like to know this as well.
